Nikon AF-S Macro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED JAA632DB review

In its own right, the Nikon 60mm ƒ/2.8 AF-S is an excellent lens, providing excellent results for sharpness, tolerance to CA and almost no distortion. Light falloff is a little noticeable when mounted on a DX body, and very significant on a full-frame body like the D3, but only if you shoot wide...

Lens Test: Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro-Nikkor

The latest version of Nikon's legendary close-focusing 1:1 "normal" macro (the first was the 55mm f/3.5 of 1961), this full-frame lens ($490, street) incorporates aspheric and ED glass elements, with Nikon's Nano crystal coating, indicated by the gold "N" logo, for suppressing internal flare and...

This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information...

Nikon's latest 60mm Micro lens replaces the old D version and adds a silent wave focusing motor, a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture, internal focusing and can be picked up for around £365. This lens is compatible with both FX and DX format cameras.

Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro Nikkor review by dhale001

I have been shooting a Micro Nikkor 55mm 1:2.8 since 1986 on a Nikon F3. When I bought a Nikon D90 three years ago, I bought this lens. I also have the Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8. For flowers, general photography inside and outside, this is an excellent choice.
Pros:

Want to get extreme close-up shots on any camera format? Look no further than the Nikon 60mm f/2.8 micro lens… Many lenses are labelled ‘macro', implying they support ultra-close-up shooting. But in most cases this isn't really true. For real macro photography you need a genuine macro lens.

A Great Lens to Own

Very sharp images on close-up shots, as well a good lens to use for stand inportrait work. The lens is light enough, as macro-micro lens go, that it can beused as a "walk around" lens. The 60 feels solid and the focus ring has a goodfeel to it.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Strong Construction
