Bokemon or the mini chub !!!

I have 85mm 1.4G, Sigma 50 Art and rented 58G. This 105E has better boke than those Nikons and as almost sharp as the Sigma 50 Art at its largest aperture. BTW, Sigma has horrid boke and bad rendering, especially body of water or wavy back ground patterns but it's sharper lens.

Smooth and sometime funky swirly Boke, Sharp at 1.4, almost no CA, relatively small size, lens produce addictive photos; Best Modern Boke Lens

Must compromise the Longer FOV than 85G and 58G for better boke and subject separation; Made in China, lens gives a bit when mounted, relatively pricey; Front cap has grayish finish instead of black; Pouch seems thinner and cheaper than earlier pouches.

REVIEW: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED Review

Although the 85mm f/1.4 lens is traditionally the iconic portrait optic for full frame cameras, many users have preferred something longer. The 135mm is also traditional, but perhaps a little too long to foster a close connection with the subject.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED is an eye-wateringly expensive short telephoto prime lens that delivers amazing image quality. Shooting wide-open at f/1.4 on a full-frame camera like the D810 allows you to easily separate the subject from the background, and although the sharpness isn't quite...

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED Lens JAA343DA review

This is one of those lenses that costs a lot of money, but lives up to its price tag: its optical quality is outstanding. We've reviewed fast prime lenses in the past that don't hit their stride until they've stopped down significantly.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED Lens - BRAND NEW review

Testing the Nikkor AF-S 105 mm f/1.4E ED was a real pleasure. It combines interesting parameters, exceedingly sharp optics hidden in a casing of good quality and accurate autofocus. I admit that for me personally the Nikkor was a huge joy to use.

solid, compact and sealed casing,, interesting, unique parameters,, sensational image quality in the frame centre,, very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C/DX sensor,, good image quality on the edge of full frame,, negligible lateral chromatic aberration,, vestigial spherical aberration,,...

a bit too high level of longitudinal chromatic aberration,, performance against bright light could have been better,, significant vignetting on full frame detector.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED Lens JAA343DA review

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED is one of the sharpest lenses we've tested, and sure to be the darling of portrait photographers and bokeh fiends.

Extremely sharp; Unique 105mm f/1.4 design; Handles diffraction well; Minimal distortion; Full-frame coverage.

Expensive; Heavy; Omits image stabilization; Corners dim at wide apertures.

"this is the new Nikon prime lens, first thing first, this lens is sharp, period. the quality and build of this lens is really good, this lens is fast which is great for low light and the focus speed is also really good. I bought it when it came out and I love it."

Beautiful Glass, however it's not Macro as listed on Nikon

I purchased this lens with the intention of getting a prime lens that could achieve gorgeous detail and bokeh. It's a beautiful lens but I found that the listing of "Macro" on Nikon's website is misleading. There is nothing I would consider "Macro" about this lens.
