Nikon AF-P DX 10-20MM F4.5-5.6G VR Lens JAA832DA review

Nikon released the new DX 10-20mm AF-P VR lens as an update to the popular 8 years old DX 10-24mm lens. Developers made a very good job of minimalizing the size and weight of the lens, while keeping a very good optical performance.

Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Review

At just $309.95, the AF-P DX Nikkor 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR is one of the least expensive lenses you can get for a Nikon SLR. It also covers one of the widest angles for APS-C (DX) models, making it a solid option for landscapes, travel, and shooting in tight spaces. To meet its price it does make some compromises, capturing photos with distinct barrel distortion and omitting the fluorine coat we're used to seeing in more premium lenses. If improved fit and finish, and a wider aperture are important, consider the Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di VC HLD as an alternative. But if you're buying on price, it's hard to beat the Nikon, as long as you're aware of its strengths and weaknesses. Design The 10-20mm ($306.95 at Amazon) measures just 2.8 by 3.0 inches (HD), weighs 8.2 ounces, and supports 72mm front filters. Like the slightly bigger (and pricier) Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED (3.4 by 3.3 inches, 1 pound), its image circle covers an APS-C sensor, a format Nikon refers to as DX. The sm...

The Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lens is ultra-wide, easy to carry, sharp, and very affordable, but it does have some shortcomings.

Light and compact; Covers very wide angle of view; Quite sharp; Optical stabilization; Inexpensive

Soft edges at 10mm; Noticeable barrel distortion; Dimmed corners; Some chromatic aberration; Narrow aperture; Plastic lens mount

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - BRAND NEW review

This lens is superb for landscapes and doesn't need a filter. Super sharp right to the edges. The only negative is the light plastic feel, but don't let that fool you, this lens is fantastic.

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.

Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.

Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - Brand New review

Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.

Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better

Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - Brand New review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - Brand New review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens - Brand New review

Hannah Stryker / Review Geek The iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device. Since its launch, the iPhone has set the standard of what a smartphone is, what it does, and how it looks. Fifteen years later, it’s still doing that.

Top-notch cameras, Amazing display, Snappy performance, Great battery life

It's just "this year's iPhone"
