Nikon calls their macro lenses "micro-Nikkors". This is a bit odd considering that they only focus down to 1:1 (still in the macro range) and that they are anything but micro in size. The series includes a 60, a 105, and a 200. My favorite lens is the 60.

Micro-Nikkor AF 60mm f/2.8 D - Review / Test Report
As the name implies the Nikkor is a macro lenses with a min. focus distance of 0.22m resulting in a max. object magnification of 1:1. The build quality of the lens is very decent thanks to an outer barrel made of good quality polycarbonate with a sleek finish.

You want Macro, I'll give you Macro! I removed this lens from it's box after purchasing and was very pleased with the weight of this sucker, and then I used it. The results were amazing, sharp, fast, and easy to use. The deep lens element negates the need for a lens hood in most situations.

60mm Micro-Nikkor digital lens
I purchased this lens to succeed my previous non-digital 60mm Nikkor AF Micro lens. I've just received this lens, but can tell it will become one of my favorites. The 60mm focal length is excellent for portraits, and it makes a comfortable focal length for macro photography as well.
Pros:
- Fast focusing
- sharp images
- excellent macro function
Cons:
- Slightly heavy
- but it feels solid

Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Review
This well-built Nikon lens should stand up to most rigorous handling. Offering a full-frame imaging circle, the lens offers the equivalent of 90mm on Nikon's DX-format digital cameras.

I had been wanting to add Macro capabilities to my repetoire of compositions for some time now. What I hadn't bargained for was a deadly sharp 90mm F2.8 equivalent portrait lens, when used on my digital body.
Pros:
- Incredibly sharp
- detailed well saturated images produced
Cons:
- A little slow to focus in AF
