Great lens

We use this lens on a PB-4 Nikon Bellows and it delivers sharp photos in the reversed position. Also mounted it on my D750 and it is a sharp walk around lens as long as you let your feet be the zoom. Overall, I am well pleased.

Nikon 24mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor

Stop! I don't own this lens, which I'm sure is a fine lens. However, I am a "D"-series Nikkor fan who prefers the smaller size, lower cost, and the way older lenses render despite not being as well-corrected and having generally less resolving power wide open and own several.
Pros:
  • Size
  • weight
  • cost
  • rendering
Cons:
  • Not as well-corrected as modern lenses
  • lower resolving power at wider apertures

Great on FX - avoid on DX

I bought this lens thinking that it would be nice and sharp on my DX machine. I own both an FX body (D810) and DX (D7000). On the FX it's not a bad lens all round. It's sharp, the CA is very low.
Pros:
  • Easily Interchangeable
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • Optics better for FX format

Perfection

First, I almost exclusively use my lenses for cinematography. My current set up is a Panasonic LUMIX GH4, with a Metabones Speedbooster XL - Nikon to M43. With that said, this 24mm lens Really has a focal length/width of a 36mm because I have a 1.5x crop factor.

A must have!

I think it was Foreigner that said 'I wanna know what love is' Well my amigo, love comes in the form of this small and lightweight 24mm lens! This sexy little mama produces a nectar so sweet and addictive that I will be forever faithful and think of Sinead O'Connor when she sang 'Nothing compares 2...

This lens shines on an FX body. (There are better looking lens for crop frames. ) Sharp, even at f/2.8. I like the color reproduction. Not as great as a 35mm 1.4 but you can only see the difference in 5-10 percent of the photos. What I love that this lens doesn't look too "professional".
Pros:
  • sharp
  • great look on FX
  • not expensive
Cons:
  • feels plastic but I don't care

24mm D2.8

This D series lens is best suited to full frame Nikon DSLRs for landscapes and architecture photography. It is however also popular for street photographers who own crop sensor DSLRs that have the focusing motor in the body (D90, D7000, D7100, D7200) because it has a 35mm equivalent focal length of...

Sharp FX Street Shooter and Great Landscape Capture

Purchased this Nikon 24mm 2.8 for a combination of coverage, optical quality, and lower price than Nikon's superb but more expensive 24mm 1.4 wide angle, for night time street and indoor event coverage.

Nikon 24mm f2.8D

"Fantastique lens. Easy to use, great results on D700. Nice wide angle, before distortion of smaller focal lengths. Fully recommend."
