Nikon polishes up another great full-frame camera with the new D810.
Very good image quality and much more comfortable grip than the D800. It is also relatively quiet, much quieter than the D800 and even the DX models D7100 and D7000 which I upgraded from. Hard to find anything to complain about except the lack of PASM wheel and GPS and WiFI not built.
Best dSLR I've ever owned!
I recently replaced my DX-format D300 with the FX format D810. What an incredible upgrade! Here are some highlights to the D810: 1. The form-factor was immediately more comfortable; the improved handgrip in particular feels more secure and therefore steadier in shooting.- Better Form Factor
- Brighter Monitor
- Contrast Control
- Excellent Resolution
- Low Base Iso
- Lower High Iso Noise
- Quiet Shutter
- Larger Image Files

The Nikon D810 body is amazing Pro camera.
I have been a Pro photographer for 40 years and the Nikon D810 has the all the quality of meduim format. The facial recognition feature and the quiet shutter operation has dramatic improved function. The 5 to 7 frames per second also increases use for sport photographers.
Nikon D810 review
Landmark cameras come along every once in a while. In 2012 it was the super-high-resolution Nikon D800 that astounded us. We couldn't quite believe how much this 36.3-megapixel full-frame beast defied our initially doubtful expectations.- Huge images can offer epic quality
- sturdy weather-sealed build
- excellent autofocus system in single or continuous autofocus
- Where's the 4K video?
- single SD slot (single CF slot)
- slower shutter speed deficiencies are amplified due to resolution
