All tests were taken using a SanDisk Class 10, 16 GB SDHC memory card, Program Mode, Flash off, Review on, ISO Auto and all other settings at the factory defaults unless noted otherwise.
Pros:
 • Brilliant image quality across JPEG
 • RAW
 • and TIFF formats
 • Full frame FX image sensor
 • Sharper detail than many other DSLRs because Nikon removed anti-aliasing filter
 • Works fast in viewfinder mode
 • Very quiet operation
 • 36-plus-megapixels of resolution allows for cropping of images when required,...
Cons:
 • Heavy camera
 • especially if you make use of a telephoto lens
 • Photo files are extremely large in terms of storage space
 • even JPEG
 • High price tag
 • No Wi-Fi
 • no GPS
 • no articulated LCD
 • no touch screen LCD
 • Maximum burst rate of 5 fps at full resolution could be a little better for pro-level sports...

super excellence

"Coming from a D700, which shows zero noise in raw files up to around ISO 800, it's shocking to find that the D810 shows lots of noise from ISO 200. But, that noise is much smaller (grain size) so your details are still okay, and there's far finer detail with this awesome resolution.

Great camera, with a budget lens

This kit is one that I would recommend to those looking to upgrade to a full-frame body as well as replace some of their crop sensor glass. Often times those who are making the jump to full-frame find that they need to replace some of their existing glass that is designed for use with APS-C or 'crop...

Full frame cameras are a big decision to make. For some photographers, it's almost as difficult to decide as swearing commitment for an arranged marriage. Once you have known or used a full frame sensor camera, you would readily find limits of your DX format snapper.
Pros:
 • Amazing image quality
 • Low noise on high ISO
 • High resolution
 • dynamic range
 • Long battery life
Cons:
 • AF on videos isn't very fine
 • Expensive

An Excellent Pro Camera

I sold my venerable D3s for the D810. I have gotten into macro photography in a big way and having a sensor that is 3x the resolution of the D3s is huge, as I like to crop many of my macro shots, and being able to still have a large file after cropping is very nice!
Pros:
 • Image size! lighter than Nikon's traditional pro cameras picture quality is simply outstanding maintains traditional Nikon pro body controls and locations
Cons:
 • Wish Wi-Fi was integrated Must get the MB-D12 grip to make it "feel" and hold like a pro series camera

Nikon D810 Review: The Ultimate Adventure Camera?

Last month, I took the Nikon D810 out on the Sierra High Route - one of the toughest adventures around. It got dirty, wet, and constantly banged around. Here's how it performed.

Excellent Camera

The camera is excellent like every Nikon that I got. great image quality.

The camera weight is OK but when you added the power battery grip is heavy, you can notice the difference but you can take advantage of the weight to get better stabilization.
Pros:
 • Easy To Use
 • Fast Shutter Speed
 • Good Image Quality
 • High ISO Performance
 • Large Clear LCD
Cons:
 • Little Heavy

Nikon D810 DSLR Review

, the Nikon D810 is easily the model on the market right now that I'd recommend. Its image quality stands out, even against other consumer- and pro-sumer-level DSLRs, which isn't easy to do.

Great camera.

I upgraded to a D810 from a D200 so was used to the general layout and weight of such a camera. Realising that I'd reached the end of my time with the D200 I considered two other models in the Nikon range and discounted them for the following reasons:- D600 - didn't like the idea of having to lose...
Pros:
 • Build Quality
 • Ergonomics
 • Great Features
 • Great Picture Quality
Cons:
 • No Hdmi Cable
