The new Nikon D7500 is the successor to D7200. It's an easy-to-use camera that shoots 8 frames per second. It also offers advanced features like time-lapse recording in 4K format.

A lot of the key hardware like the EXPEED 5 image processor and the 20.9 MP APS-C sensor come from the flagship D500 model.

Nikon D7500 review

The D7500 sits in that classic 'step-up' zone for those looking for a smattering of pro features in a smaller, cheaper form factor than pro cams. In this sense, it's among the best out there, particularly if you're craving a D500 but don't have the cash to buy it. You're essentially getting a D500 in a cheaper body - and depending on what you shoot, that's no bad thing. If you’re an all-round type of shooter, with no particular favourite genre, or you tend to mainly shoot still subjects, the D7500 arguably makes more sense than its pricier sibling. But if you like to shoot action and fast moving subjects, the D500, while more expensive, is better suited to the task at hand. The same goes for low light shooting. Still, beyond mirrorless compact system cams like the Fujifilm X-T2, the only real alternative to the D7500 is Canon's EOS 80D. That's still a fantastic camera and now available for under £1000, but the D7500's burst shooting, viewfinder and autofocus see it edge just ahead as our favourite DSLR at this price.
Pros:
  • Superb image quality
  • Speedy autofocus
  • Handy tilting touchscreen
  • Fast burst mode (at this price)
Cons:
  • Only one SD card slot
  • Wireless sharing a bit patchy

Amazing camera!

My husband bought me this to help me get started in the world of photography and the quality is amazing, even on auto whilst I'm learning about adjusting the iso, aperture and shutter speed! Very nice layout, easy to use and has some great features!!

A worthwhile upgrade or new purchase

I purchased this to replace a D7100, which I purchased because I was tired of waiting for the D400 (we now know as the D500) that never showed up. My main issues with the D7100 were it's buffer for high-speed bursts, and the ISO performance when pushing raw images in post processing.

Excellent upgrade

Despite adverse commments against upgrading, I had the D7100 from new....so 4 years! That was superb. I hand the battery grip too but almost never used it, so the D7500 not having a grip capability wasn't an issue, nor did the lack of a 2nd card worry me.
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Excellent In Low Light
  • Good Sized Screen
  • Nice Features and Settings
  • Rugged

I did check it for a few minutes but I had to return because of some issues listed below at Cons. Pros: - The product is very good - easy to use, - nice photos at high Iso (up to 10.000) - much better video quality than my old D7100 Cons: - most important it had no EU warranty slip (card) - the box...

Love the camera. Always been a Nikon fan.

Love this camera. Works with all my old Blade type AF lenses, all the G lenses, AIS, etc. Very fast, 8 frames/second, etc. One drawback, apartenlty they changed in the D7500, the IR receiver for the remote is only in the front. Aparently, it's predisessor had an IR receiver in the back also.
