Nikon Coolpix P900
Nikon turned a few heads when it announced the Coolpix P900 ($599.95), a large superzoom with an unfathomable 83x lens. It can capture wide angle scenes and zoom far-very, very far-to capture distant objects.
Pros:
- 83x zoom lens
- Excellent image stabilization system
- Full manual controls
- Eye-level EVF
- Vari-angle LCD
- Quick autofocus
- In-camera GPS and Wi-Fi
- 1080p60 video capture
Cons:
- Detail suffers at moderate ISOs
- No Raw support
- Long recovery times after burst shooting
- Large and heavy
- No hot shoe
- External charger not included

Nikon Coolpix P900 Review
The Nikon Coolpix P900 boasts the longest zoom range of any camera on the market, but a lack of detail at higher ISOs holds it back. Nikon turned a few heads when it announced the Coolpix P900 ($599.95), a large superzoom with an unfathomable 83x lens. It can capture wide angle scenes and zoom far—very, very far—to capture distant objects. It's a great idea for a camera, and one that works fairly well, but it's not without a couple of issues. There's some pretty aggressive noise reduction going on with its 16-megapixel images, which limits the detail the lens can muster at moderate ISOs, and the camera is unresponsive during burst shooting. If you value zoom above all else, and take care to keep the ISO settings low, the P900 is a solid choice. But our favorite superzoom is still the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS ($479.00 at eBay) . Design and FeaturesMost superzooms are big, but the P900 ($599.95 at Dell) is exceptionally large. At 4.1 by 5.5 by 5.5 inches (HWD) and 2 pounds, it's larger and heavier than some SLRs with a kit lens attached. But a kit lens isn't going to give you the same type of reach as the P900. T...

Nice for video but returned it after a few days
Pros:
- Zoom is great for video
Cons:
- Horrible Image Quality and Zoom simply makes it worse
8 years ago
Pros:
- Love this camera
- This is the second of these I have bought
- My wife stepped on the strap and pulled it out of her hand and smashed the first one so I bought a second immediately
- It is that good! The zoom is incredible and we can't go back to a lesser camera now
Cons:
- The only thing missing is a rubber eye piece
- I'm hoping that the new model will remedy this

Nikon Coolpix P900 review: The camera that's all zoom
The Nikon P900 was announced back in 2015 and remains to this day the holder of the world's biggest zoom on a consumer camera. Its 83x zoom range is equivalent to 24-2,000mm on a full-frame camera and can stretch from wide-angle vistas to pictures of the moon filling the frame.
Pros:
- Reasonable sharpness over a huge zoom range
- Wi-Fi and GPS
Cons:
- The 2000mm zoom position is unwieldy
- Too much reliance on menu navigation
- Odd automatic ISO settings

Great zoom Camera
Camera was as described. But battery life ends quickly if you use zoom too often. I advise you to buy extra batteries. Ovearll I am satisfied. Shipping time was also great.

Goondu Review: Nikon Coolpix P900
When marketing its latest Coolpix P900, Nikon is very clear on its main selling point. With its zoom lens' long reach, this camera will come in handy if you want a relatively portable shooter that still lets you capture subjects at distance.

Nikon Coolpix P900 Review
When I offered to review the Nikon Coolpix P900 for Photography Life, I told Nasim I felt like a comedian rooting for Sarah Palin to become president so he'd have four more years of material. C'mon, 24-2000mm zoom combined with a 1:2.3" sensor? The comedic potential seemed endless.
