Nikon Coolpix P6000 review
Nikon Coolpix P6000 digital camera review : Nikon has enjoyed an enormous boost in popularity over the past year, which most photographers undoubtedly will have noticed. Nikon's digital SLR series is extremely successful, and not only for the professional.

Nikon Coolpix P6000
One of the first cameras to feature an inbuilt geotagging capability, the P6000 utilises GPS to get location information when you take a picture, and attaches it to your image. When you view the photos later with compatible software, the GPS feature can display where you took certain shots.
Pros:
- Geotagging features are relatively easy to use
- Two user-defined modes
- Zippy performance
- Use of LAN port to transfer images intuitively
- Professional design
Cons:
- Took several long tries to get a GPS lock
- Raw image supported only by Nikon's ViewNX software
- Image quality is acceptable but not impressive for a shooter in this class

Nikon Coolpix P6000
at £421. With a slightly lower resolution and zoom, will the Nikon need to pull out the proverbial rabbit in a world governed by pixels?
Pros:
- GPS built-in
- LAN connection for speedy uploads
- Good colour rendition
- Easy to navigate
Cons:
- Instruction manual takes you round the houses
- Bad high ISO handling
- Slow continuous shooting

Nikon Coolpix P6000 review Review
Nikon's 13.5-megapixel P6000 looks so good on paper you might wonder whether you need a digital SLR at all. Its sensor matches the pixel count of any low-medium range dSLR, its 4x zoom is more than the average kit lens, it shoots raw files, has a full set of exposure modes and there's vibration...
Pros:
- 4x wideangle zoom
- PASM exposure modes
- Vibration reduction
Cons:
- Noise reduction
- Poor optical viewfinder
- Sluggish responses

Nikon Coolpix P6000 digital camera
Nikon's P6000 arrives with some very clever kit not least of which is the GPS data for "geo-tagging" images, where the location each image was made is stored as Global Positioning Satellite data within each image's exif data.
Pros:
- Build and handling
- low ISO image quality
- easy to use
- image stabilisation
Cons:
- Basic optical viewfinder
- intermittent GPS
- high ISO image noise
- price

Nikon Coolpix P6000 review
Right now it seems as if Nikon can hardly put a foot wrong with its digital SLRs. So when it turns its hand to a high-end compact to rival Canon's PowerShot G10, we should all sit up and take notice. They're both aimed at keen photo enthusiasts and share similar though not identical specifications.

Nikon Coolpix P6000 review
While the main camera features work as well as can be expected, with a heavy price tag, the value of the seemingly unreliable geo-tagging feature and unnecessary ethernet option are questionable.

Nikon Coolpix P6000 review
Nikon's eagerly awaited CoolPix P6000 is the replacement to the maker's P5000 and its P5100 upgrade. Like those earlier offerings, the 13.5 million-pixel P6000 is pitched unashamedly at the high end, but it's a market that has been dominated by arch-rival Canon, with its highly capable G-series...
Pros:
- High picture quality (at low ISOs)
- handy image stabilization
- exposure control and small, well-built body
Cons:
- Occasionally tardy auto-focus operation
- unreliable GPS operation
- Raw file not officially supported on Mac OS X

Nikon Coolpix P6000 review
The 13.5Mp Nikon CoolPix P6000 is a compact camera pitched unashamedly at the high end of the market, an area previously dominated by arch-rival Canon, with its highly capable G9 and G10 compacts.

Nikon Coolpix P6000
Digital SLRs may be the big sellers in the enthusiasts' market, but there's still a lot to be said for well-specified compacts. In fact, Nikon's £350 13.5-megapixel P6000 looks so good you might wonder whether you need a digital SLR at all. It even includes GPS and networking.
Pros:
- 4x wideangle zoom
- PASM exposure modes
- vibration reduction
Cons:
- Noise reduction
- poor optical viewfinder
- sluggish responses
