[REVIEW-NIKON COOLPIX P6000]
This is a 13.5 megapixel camera with a 28–112mm (film equivalent) zoom lens, which is image stabilised. There is a 75mm LCD screen and optical viewfinder. Construction is rugged and appearance is austere. Accessible functions are similar to an SLR - this is not intended as a point and shoot.
Pros:
- Image quality up to ISO200 is very good, with excellent exposure, resolution and white balance, Colour fidelity is exceptional
- However the best results do depend on shooting in RAW and converting the images with an application such as Adobe RAW converter.
Cons:
- There is some noise visible at ISO400, and in JPG mode it tends to clog into ugly black patches in open shadow
- We consider ISO speeds above 400 just about unusable and the vaunted 6400 is a laugh

Nikon Coolpix P6000 Digital Camera First Impressions Review
The P6000 is Nikon's latest high-end compact point-and-shoot. It offers a variety of upgrades over its predecessor the P5100, including (of course) an increase to 13.5 megapixels, ISO 6400 and allegedly improved low-light performance (we hope) and built-in GPS.

Nikon Coolpix P6000
One of the first cameras to feature an inbuilt geotagging capability, the P6000 utilises GPS to get location information when you take a picture, and attaches it to your image. When you view the photos later with compatible software, the GPS feature can display where you took certain shots.
Pros:
- Geotagging features are relatively easy to use
- Two user-defined modes
- Zippy performance
- Use of LAN port to transfer images intuitively
- Professional design
Cons:
- Took several long tries to get a GPS lock
- Raw image supported only by Nikon's ViewNX software
- Image quality is acceptable but not impressive for a shooter in this class

The Nikon P6000 Coolpix 13.5 MP digital camera has so many features it hard to sum it up. I have waited for this digital camera for months. I have an old Nikon point and shoot that will never die and I have been happy with its reliability.

Very good effort from Nikon, but needs some work
I like this camera a lot. Nikon is getting serious. Of course, the best features of this camera are RAW (NRW - new format) capability and GPS. Image quality coming from this camera is outstanding.
Pros:
- RAW
- GPS
- high quality images
- very sharp
- excellent grip
- support for Nikon pro flashes
Cons:
- No live histogram
- RAW support for Mac is third party only
- no battery charger (ac adaptor only)
- OVF is very basic

Nikon Coolpix P6000
Geotagging photos-placing them on a map in the spot where you took them-has always had trade-offs. In the early days, it meant dropping pictures manually onto a digital map. Lately, it's meant relying on Wi-Fi triangulation (which doesn't follow you everywhere, as GPS does) or toting cumbersome...
