Nikon Coolpix P100

Great Camera
This camera quickly replaced a Canon SX30 I had purchased but didn't like at all. The zoom on the SX30 was nice, but the overall picture quality was terrible compared to my last Canon camera from a few years back (on auto or manual settings). That's about it.
Pros:
- Nice photo quality and it takes good 1080p video
- Big 26x zoom, and the camera is pretty light
- Recharges the battery through the USB port which is convenient in my book
- Big LCD screen and plenty of features
- Nice manual

- Nothing

Nikon COOLPIX P100
Nikon's P100 is the company's third-generation SLR-style super zoom, replacing the P90. Launched in February 2010 it swaps its predecessor's 12.1 Megapixel CCD sensor with a 10.3 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor.
Pros:

- Fast continuous and burst shooting
- Dedicated movie record button
- Excellent high ISO noise performance
Cons:
- No shortcut menu
- No Vibration Reduction for movies
- Very modest 10cm macro
- Poor battery life

Not user-friendly, but a good camera
Don't go without an extra battery; it takes a while to recharge; they should have used AA batteries instead of the expensive one they put in ($40 at BestBuy); should have some internal memory beyond the SD card.

Well I got my Nikon P100 halfway through February this year, just before the new P500 was launched. I don't think you will miss much between the two except extra zoom. "Nikon Coolpix p100"
I've been into photography for years and previously owned an older model of Nikon camera. After it was stolen in Barcelona and the insurance company begrudgingly paid out; I had the task of finding the best camera on the market for the amount of money I had to spend.

Good Camera
This is my first Nikon camera. I used to buy only canon products. I feel that feature and performance area are good. I feel that they can improve the camera's look & feel.
