The Coolpix P100 is the first Nikon bridge camera with Full HD 1080p resolution movie capture with stereo sound, it also has a remarkable 26x Nikon ED VR zoom lens. That and a CMOS sensor packing 10.3 megapixels makes it a formidable looking bridge-style compact camera.- Good image quality - even at higher sensitivities
- handling
- design
- ease of use
- menus
- vari-angle screen
- HD movies
- EVF
- lack of direct controls for some key features
- plastic build
- stereo microphones pick up mechanical noise as lens zooms
Nikon Coolpix P100 review
Smaller and cheaper than a digital SLR but with performance that dwarfs a compact, the Nikon Coolpix P100 is bridge camera with 1080p HD video capability
Nikon Coolpix P100 digital camera
The Nikon CoolPix P100 is a likeable superzoom camera that weighs a scant 419g (with battery) and has an incredible 26x optical zoom. It's also a 24mm wide-angle camera that can capture vast vistas - we got it to take a very broad shot of the sweep of the Thames and were impressed with the breadth...- Great video mode
- good value for money
- 26x zoom
- Tilting screen is a little stiff
- indoor shots aren't always fantastic

- Fast continuous and burst shooting
- Dedicated movie record button
- Excellent high ISO noise performance
- No shortcut menu
- No Vibration Reduction for movies
- Very modest 10cm macro
- Poor battery life
Nikon Coolpix P100 Camera Review
The Nikon Coolpix P100 is a megazoom digital camera that is just packed full of interesting options for photographers. The huge 26x zoom is undoubtedly its headline feature, but the 10 megapixel CMOS sensor and high speed video ability are probably not far behind.

- poor image quality
- poor LCD screen viewing angle
Nikon Coolpix P100
WHEN I first read the press release for the Nikon Coolpix P100, I was immediately attracted to it. Like a nail to a magnet, I was drawn to the idea of having its DSLR-like manual modes to play around with, the lengthy 26x optical zoom and full HD video recording.- : Long optical zoom
- HD recording
- swivel LCD screen
- good image quality
- : Electronic Viewfinder could be better
- cumbersome lens cap
Nikon Coolpix P100
Released a year after the Coolpix P90, Nikon's Coolpix P100 is a next-generation super-zoom model with the same SLR-like styling as its predecessor. However, it adds some features and special shooting modes to attract a wider range of potential purchasers.
