NETGEAR Nighthawk X4S R7800 AC2600 Router Review

Not long ago, Netgear released the Nighthawk X4S R7800, which is an updated, better equipped version of the Netgear Nighthawk X4 (that I reviewed not long ago) and, besides having an overall better wireless performance than its predecessor, it also comes with the MU-MIMO technology, working out of...

Netgear Nighthawk X4S Smart Wi-Fi Gaming Router Review

The is a very strong package, let down only by its slow 2.4GHz performance and antiquated admin software. Still, it has the goods where it really counts, as it was the fastest 5GHz router I tested and also the fastest for file transfers, which is what the majority of people would use it for.

Bitter sweet experience

Quite a paradoxial heading for couple of reasons. Did not buy the product from Amazon due to extremely high price from its vendors. Amazon deleted my comments twice due to my rants. Please check the ma. re. pr. before buying from here. Hardware shops are selling them much cheaper.

Netgear D7800: The ideal modem for gaming

Not all routers are the same: for the more general purposes, the many modem routers available under $100 can also be good, but if we look for quality at all costs and we are immersed in a highly demanding environment (the gaming industry is one of these), we can not choose any router/modem, but we...

Low risk choice if you find it on sale.

I have been impressed with the Netgear equipment I have purchased in the past, so Netgear had an automatic leg up in the Court of Router Selection. It has worked flawlessly for a couple of months, and for that it gets five stars.

Littlewoods sent me a second hand router.

As the title says. Got the router, tried connecting, wouldn't work. So I went onto the Netgear website to speak to them. To do so, I had to register the product. Turns out the serial number was already registered. So I've obviously been sent a second hand, broken product. Buy at your own risk.

This works REALLY well. I bought this to replace a BT "Smarthub". Despite BT's claim to have the most reliable WiFi signal, it was not getting everywhere in our house. This works just as I hoped it would, I no longer suffer with a variable WiFi signal (which I used to see when standing in the same...

Review: Netgear Nighthawk X4S

Modem routers need not be chunky things, and Netgear intends to prove it, letting us play with its Nighthawk X4S, a network device designed to keep the speeds up with the size down. Does it pull it off

Small size; fairly standard footprint; Not chunky at all; and wouldn't look strange in a home; Stickers for antenna locations makes for no confusion; Great locations for accessory ports; Excellent reception range

Painfully slow browser setup; Forced to run two network names if you want the full 2.5Gbps connection; with no way of banding the two together
