One of the most contentious genres in the gaming world has always been the sport of racing, and one franchise has been a major player for the past 15 years.  That franchise is, of course, Need For Speed (NFS).

Need for Speed: SHIFT is without a doubt one of the best in the franchise for quite a few years. Its sense of speed, good career mode and wide array of vehicles make it a fantastic racing title to play through.

The first hairpin on Laguna Seca is always a test - in just twenty seconds you instantly sort the noobs from the vets as the noobs plough through the corner into the sand trap at high speed.

Shift sits somewhere between arcade and simulation racers, providing an extremely fun experience.

I like racing games.  Between the thrill of competition and the stress relief of being able to slam your virtual car into someone else, there isn't much better value for your gaming dollar then a good, in depth racing game.

the 9 and 12 year old love the game and are trying to teach the 3 y/o how to race. she's actually pretty good as long as big brother is steering ;)
