Shift 2: Unleashed

The long-running (-out-of-steam) Need for Speed racing game series from EA has enjoyed a serious overhaul and emerged as good, solid, head-wobbling fun in Shift 2: Unleashed.

Shift 2 Unleashed Review

Shifting gears for a minute, one of the best features of Shift 2 is ‘Autolog,' which was first introduced in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Autolog is a race-centric social network that allows gamers to vie for driving dominance among their group of PlayStation Network friends.

Deep and varied career mode; Superb visual presentation; especially the in-cockpit view; Excellent implementation of 'Autolog' social network features

Delayed handling on standard control pads; Lackluster audio; Heavy aliasing

Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed

For many racing game enthusiasts, each of the major brands are defined by their feel , rather than the swathes of licensed content that pepper press releases and official trailers.

None like any other game

Shift 2 is a sequel to the hit game Need for speed shift in 2009.It took every one by storm by not having street racing which i like and put in event racing. Ok no more talk about the first game lets talk about this game.

Shift 2: Unleashed Review

Shift 2 is one of the very few driving games where we'd actually prefer to boot-up its predecessor rather than this new iteration. It's still a thoroughly decent and innovative racer but fans of the original may be justifiably disappointed by the many missed opportunities here.

A good balance between racer and simulation

From the earliest days of computers, I've always enjoyed racing games. Despite many improvements in graphics and sound, the superb Commodore 64 game Pitstop 2 from Epyx represents the zenith of the genre for me.

Need For Speed Shift 2: Unleashed review

The Need for Speed series takes another crack at the more serious side of racing with this latest iteration.

Helmet-cam; good AI competition; Autolog online records

An overly familiar approach to the racing genre; lack of Aussie V8s for taking on Mt Panorama

Graphics aren't as good as the first one...

The gameplay seems a bit harder than the first one. This one also looks a but cartoony like all the other NFS Games, but it has lots of sick cars and tuning options.

Shift 2: Unleashed

EA shook Heaven and Earth when it introduces Shift in 2009. With its subtitle this Need for Speed would bring change in the arcade association of the series. As simulation rookie EA would take on solid series like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, but didn't manage to ride with the big boys during...
