The Need for Speed was, I think, the first ever game I played on the first PlayStation. I remember freaking out that it had actual video clips in it, and how amazingly realistic the driving gameplay seemed at the time.

Great fun but lacks depth and the online is still quite secular
What fun is a competition if you have no rivals to compete against? That seems to be the philosophy behind Need for Speed Rivals which provides you plenty of things to compete for with rivals [...]
Need for Speed Rivals talks a good talk about letting players take on the role of the police or criminals. Problem is I do not feel much like an officer when playing the police in Need for Speed Rivals.
Very boring game , there is no group race ,no multi player option . pls don't buy it .IT IS A ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY.
If you want a cheap racing game from 2013, you should get Forza 5 Motorsport instead of this.
Need For Speed: Rivals is an impressive racer held back from true greatness by a couple of issues. The fact that you'll spend a good deal of time waiting at the loading screen just to join a game is a problem that simply can't be overlooked.
Low on innovation but high on spectacle, as the cumulation of the last several years of Need For Speed games the first entry on the next gen is already one of the best.
Great driving model and some of the most exciting races in the series' history; Fun upgrade path and a very well designed score multiplier; Excellent graphics
Very little in the way of new ideas, in particular a lack of variety in the race types; The online options can easily be abused by antisocial players
Bought this only for its low price. Thought I could enjoy some racing even though NFS gameplay has gotten old with all the cops chasing etc. Still not a bad experience for this price.
The eternal conflict between racers and cops drives Need for Speed: Rivals ($59.99), the latest entry in a long-running series. But don't mistake this game for a simple rehash: Tweaks to the formula make Rivals the most impressive Need for Speed installment to date.
Massive open world; Great mix of free-roaming racing and challenges; Enjoyable online multiplayer feature
Inconsistent crash-damage representation; Distracting EasyDrive system; Shallow car customization
