Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Review

Naruto has come a long way since the show and manga about an orange-clad, loud-mouthed young ninja debuted over 10 years ago. Though I once watched the show for its entrancing fights, the current run of Naruto Shippuden – its successor series – along with the latest edition in Namco Bandai's game...

Epic boss fights; Strategic; varied combat; High authenticity; Plenty of replayability; Massive roster

Ninja Tools feel unneeded; Easy difficulty

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 review

Whether you follow anime or not, chances are you've heard of a spiky-haired ninja named Naruto. What first started out as a weekly manga in Japan has grown into a worldwide franchise spanning television, merchandise, and video games.

An amazing story mode experience; Beautiful cel-shaded visuals and animations; Simple; fun combat mechanics

Pointless quests; Pointless collectibles; Combat can seem shallow at first

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Review

(continued from previous page) ...single player mode, which can be a drag. Tournament mode is probably the best of the bunch, and probably one of my favourite tournament modes in a fighter that have been released recently, you can do a normal style tournament just fighting your way to the end, this...

Incredible anime visuals with nearly perfectly placed QTE sections; Insane length story mode which will take at least 25-30 hours to finish everything; Exciting possibilities for online

Though not a big one; the lack of certain characters left a bit of distaste; Frame rate really needs to be stable for a fighter; and the occasional dips can be frustrating

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst

At this point CyberConnect2 just needs to be in charge of all anime-related fighting games. If One Piece decides to ever do another fighting game, giving it the CyberConnect2 treatment would seriously be a sight to see.

The return of cinematic boss fights; stunning 3D visuals; amazing soundtrack; the ability to use awakening mode in an instant; combat is still great

Very cutscene heavy

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 – Full Burst

Let's start with full disclosure: I've never played a Naruto game before, nor previously encountered Naruto in any way. So you could argue that Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 – Full Burst might not be the best place for a Naruto newcomer to start, given that it's the third in the Ultimate...

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Multi-Platform) Review

A few months ago, gentle internet ponderer Kyle Boseman said he doesn't have the ‘soul' for fighting games. Finally, someone understood. Through roughly 20 years of Street Fighters, Mortal Kombats, Guilty Gears, Dark Stalkers, and Marvel vs. Capcoms, a fighting game never grabbed me.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst

Many would agree that Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 was the most complete Naruto game to date, and Full Burst only extends what UNS3 had to offer. It's still a niche game for a niche audience, but it's well-developed, refined, and loaded with quality content.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3

As with its brethren in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 's approach to depicting super-powered ninja action is best described as a bit "Hollywood," with all pros and cons that such a descriptor might attach.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3

I have some mixed feelings when it comes to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 . I've believe that the Ultimate Ninja line has been the best of the Naruto fighters for a long time, and while I feel that Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is still better than most other Naruto fighters, there are some...
