+ Insanely large jumps
A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.
MX vs ATV , Pure , Fuel , Motorstorm , and now Nail'd . You wait an entire generation for a competent off-road racer and then fifty of the buggers turn up at once, each touting unique features like 'persistant track deformation', 'independent tyre suspension', 'pre-loading physics', 'GIGANTIC...
Nail'd is your clichéd off-road extreme racer that contains lots of outrageous jumps, lots of male bravado and a healthy dose of testosterone thrown into the mix... even sexily dressed female racers for more testosterone fun.
Despite some wonky physics and overlong courses, this outrageous off-road racer shines at its budget price.
Huge list of events with cool match types and modifiers; wacky physics work well with wicked-fast off-road racing; terrific track designs
Despite calling out the good, established titles in the ATV/MTX landscape, this game failed to "play up" to those standards, definitely didn't surpass them. The presentation elements are a big downside, but could be permissible if the gameplay was good.
nail'd is not concerned with deep customization, detailed specifications, or the long road to… well, anything. The developers at Techland seem to understand that these things are secondary to what makes a good racing game.
Recent arcade racing titles like Split/Second, Pure, and Blur have tried to make racing about more than just crossing the finish line first. Because of this, I've admired those games and how they expanded the lexicon of racing titles. Nail'd is not one of those games.
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane…oh…it's an ATV leaping over the wing of a plane in mid-flight. …well, you don't see that every day. Such is the premise behind Techland's high-flying and downright absurd (in a good way) off-road racer,
Just about nails it.
