NBA 2K17 Review

After a few games of playing NBA 2K17, it became clear Visual Concepts has managed to make certain improvements since NBA 2K16; going from one end of the court to the next was seamless, and you're p

NBA 2K17 review: the BEST sports game this year

You don't have to be a fan of basketball. You don't have to know who cover star Paul George is, who he plays for or even know your bank shot from your finger roll or putback and tip in. All you need to know is that NBA 2K17 is one of the best sports games ever.

NBA 2K17

If nothing else, then, the game manages to impress with the sheer level of detail it provides. You could spend months trying to work through the career mode, not even touching MyGM or MyTeam, and feel as though you got your money's worth.

Impressive depth; Graphics have improved; New animations add to immersion

MyCareer mode is unforgiving; Online play is buggy

NBA 2K17

It should be said right away that NBA 2K17 is very similar to last year's edition, especially in terms of the Story Mode. We started by creating an aspiring basketball star (you can import these from the Prelude) and then starting our career.

NBA 2K17

Basketball is a sport that could have been designed to be played on games consoles. Those of us who inexplicably failed to grow to a height of 7 feet can forget about a career in the sport, but at least we can live out our fantasies via a tightly-clutched joypad.

NBA 2K17 – Review

"No Kobe. No Problem." If NBA 2K16 was focused on defensive plays and momentum favoured breakthrough moments, then NBA 2K17 is just the opposite. As a seasoned NBA 2K player, I felt [...]

Balanced/Action packed Gameplay; Detailed Presentation; MyGM Mode; Stable Online Gameplay; Focus on modes like Blacktop

Soundtrack; Micromanagement in MyCareer; Text Overload; Unreal phsyique of some known players

Every year I wonder how the NBA 2K series is possibly going to get better. Sport games are accustomed to drops in quality considering their annual nature, particularly when a series seems to be at its best for a number of years. I keep waiting for NBA 2K to have this drop.

Amazing production value l Detailed; solid gameplay l Modes to keep you busy for years l MyTeam revamp

Load times l The grind in MyCareer l I need more time in the day to invest into all the amazing modes

Game Review: ‘NBA 2K17'

As a middle-of-the-road basketball fan, so to speak, I'll admit that enjoyed NBA 2K16 immensely. The result of a large amount of fan feedback, 2K16 was critically and commercially lauded as one of the most complete sporting games in recent memory.
