Motorola Edge review

The Motorola Edge is a flagship-grade looking phone. Its screen and design are fantastic at its £549 asking price, as are the speakers that make it a dream video streamer. If that’s what you value, then you won’t get more design or screen for less. While its power is midrange, which will hold it back if you’re a gamer, its camera is respectable at the price, as is the Edge's battery life. The result is a phone that’s a dream to use day-in-day-out, despite the fact its chipset won't win over gamers.

Great looking design; Best-in-class screen; Great battery life;

Fingerprint magnet; Mid-range power; Cameras lack OIS;

Motorola Edge review: Stunning display, good price

There’s so much the Motorola Edge gets right it almost makes me forget about the annoyances. It’s the best looking Motorola phone in ages, and yes, I do count the Moto Razr in that statement. The screen is a killer. What’s more, I’ve liked using it, especially because it’s light, compact, and disappears in my pocket or bag. It’s great for everyday use, if you’re not looking for a gaming-focused powerhouse with the best camera out there. However, there are a few irritations to do with the build quality, security, and the software, which are very frustrating and aren’t quite canceled out by the significant upsides. I’ve been using the phone for nearly two weeks now, and here’s the good and the bad in a lot more detail. The Motorola Edge is my favorite Motorola phone design in some time, and a prime reason is the 19.5:9 aspect ratio screen which slims the body right down, much like Sony did with the 21:9 aspect ratio Xperia 10 Plus. The advantage is the phone doesn’t require such a big st...

Great screen; 5G at a reasonable price; Excellent battery life; Strong everyday usability; Pretty, easy-to-handle design;

Fingerprint sensor is unreliable; Software can frustrate; Camera needs improvement;

Motorola Edge Review

The Motorola Edge is a great phone, especially at the price. It feels like a true flagship and doesn’t really sacrifice much to reach the lower price. It’s fast, has a good camera, 5G and it’s one of the best looking phones around.

5G without spending too much; Excellent software; Really nice screen; A lot of phone for the money;

No IP rating; Overly curved display is a bit annoying; Some bugs in the software;

Motorola Edge review

Though it looks the same as the premium Edge Plus, the Motorola Edge lacks the power of its bigger sibling - and many similarly-priced rivals too. But what you won't get at such a cheap price is the stunning 6.7in OLED Endless Edge display. There's also a good, but not great, suite of cameras available and a decent 4500mAh battery that'll boast a full day of charge. It won't beat the competition in terms of performance, but it certainly looks better!
