Many people wanted a sequel to 2008's Mirror's Edge, and I was definitely amongst those eager folk. Following the desire for a sequel, another thing that I very much craved was an open-world follow-up.

Many people wanted a sequel to 2008's Mirror's Edge, and I was definitely amongst those eager folk. Following the desire for a sequel, another thing that I very much craved was an open-world follow-up.
Runners know that there's a big difference between a 100-meter dash and a marathon. You can go all out during the former and burn brightly over a short period of time, as did the original Mirror's Edge , but the latter requires a steadier sense of pacing and drive.
If you're looking for a game to play rather than watch where you can pretend to know parkour then this is a good one for Mirror's Edge fans and those new to the series. If however, you want something more meaningful from the narrative or just want to hear Lisa Miskovsky's Stay Alive one last time,...
Faith restored.
Movement is remarkable; Social Play is challenging and fun; The city of Glass is beautifully vibrant
Story and characters are dull; Combat is ropey at times
When the first Mirror's Edge released in 2008, wasn't what we'd call " Ground-Breaking ", but the acclaim it garnered and the innovations it brought to the table was anything but.
Detailed Character Models; Innovative Combat System; Fluid Gameplay; Solar Fields Excellent Soundtrack
Underdeveloped Stories; Lifeless City; Boring Characters

The original Mirror's Edge was my first taste of parkour in video games, it paved the way for titles like Dying Light and Titanfall . Mirror's Edge Catalyst being the natural successor only gave me high hopes for what was promised to be the same mesh of acrobatic stunting and combat fluidity on a...
Clunky combat; Pointless upgrades; Forgettable story
After many years of torture the team of DICE finally came to their senses and developed the game fans have been begging for. Gone is the linear structure of the 2008 cult classic and in its place is an open-world for you to explore.
The parkour moves are as satisfying as ever | Grid Nodes are fun and challenging
The open-world structure does not work | Faith's voice recording is a low quality | The map is generally a mess of icon
Game play much better than the first. More attack options. Great that it has a map that you can visit and see what needs to be completed. A lot more interactive.
But once the story is done, Mirror's Edge Catalyst still has all the stuff left to do that makes it unique. This is a review-unique scenario - I have to play the critical path, and most people will never finish the game.
