Might & Magic Heroes VI Review

Might & Magic Heroes VI is a great return for the series, that provides a strategists delight with a great turn-based combat system. There is plenty on display that will keep fans of the genre entertained for countless hours, but don't expect a compelling story to propel you through the campaign.

Might and Magic: Heroes VI: Review

The Might & Magic series is a well known and loved franchise that has games in several different genres. Perhaps it's best known sub-series is Heroes of Might & Magic which is loved for its solid turn based strategy RPG action.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Might & Magic: Heroes VI is a relic from the days when games didn't bother with internal consistency or inherent logic. Instead of being set in a world that conforms to any particular overarching concept, Heroes asks "Wouldn't it be great if an army of orcs and cyclops fought against a bunch of...

Despite this extra layer of crazy on a game with enough to manage, Heroes VI is the best we've seen from the series in a decade and worth checking out. At least, eventually. Even with multiple delays, the game's quite prone to glitches, freezes and hiccups.

Well-balanced factions; return to what made

Obtrusive online system; stability issues

Might & Magic Heroes VI Review

I've put more time into Might & Magic Heroes VI than I will in almost any other game this year. The sheer amount of playable content is daunting, and makes this turn-based strategy title one of the best value propositions I've ever encountered.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI Review

It is a testament to its strength that the Might and Magic name has persevered over 25 years and three different companies while still retaining a loyal following. The core Might and Magic games, of...

+ Deep; strategic experience; + Lots of customization; + Tons of content; + Fantastic music and sound effects

AI can be brutally difficult; Reputation system is a bit thin

Might & Magic Heroes VI

It's been five years since players were last treated to a numbered installment of the long-running Heroes of Might and Magic series, and Hungarian developer Black Hole Entertainment has taken that time to whittle off some staples of the franchise and introduce even more.

Might & Magic Heroes VI

All in all, Might and Magic: Heroes VI is a triumphant return for the series, albeit one slightly spoiled by a ridiculous name change and irksome DRM. Nonetheless, the game manages to be simultaneously slick and expansive, complex yet simple to learn.
