Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i7 256GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Black VNX-00021 review

As updates go, this one is minor. But the Surface Pro is still a major player in portable productivity.

Finally a USB-C port! Still solid performance, battery life, and usability.

No real compelling reasons to upgrade from previous models. Remains expensive.

Nice design but tempramental

Bought this for it lightweight and decent design, however have found it can freeze sometimes which is annoying. Overall happy with it, but don;t expect freezing bugs from Microsoft,

Expected a beast, got a snail

This machine is meant to be the cream of the crop, the Mac Killer. I wish I could say that were true but it's not and because it's a work computer I'm stuck with it. What a disappointment. So slow, and it's an i7 with 16gb of RAM. 16 GB OF RAM!!! Come on Microsoft you cna do better. My Surface Pro i5 with 8gb of RAM runs circles around this crapper.

New Surface Pro 7 - replacement for old desktop

Excellent system, using both as stand alone and hooked up to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. It's been a while since I set up a new computer, and it was very easy. Amazing how something so small is so much more powerful than my old desktop. Click and collect worked well.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i7 256GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Black VNX-00021 review

The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 improves on its predecessor with stronger performance and better ports, but its battery life is disappointing. The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 delivers big on performance and display quality, complete with a responsive screen for note-taking and drawing and a convertible...

Solid performance, Bright and colorful display, Excellent optional keyboard, USB-C port (finally)

Underwhelming battery life, Soft speakers

Bigger faster

My last Surface Pro which I purchased way back 2012 was still keeping up with me, only for the battery. 8 years is a pretty good inning. Let's see what this one can do over the coming years.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i7 256GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Platinum VNX-00007 review

You can’t go wrong with the new Surface Pro 7 if you are in the market for a 2-in-1 Windows tablet. It’s a bit expensive and you have to pay extra for the accessories but it is a premium and powerful product. It has a nice form factor, vibrant display and delivers competent performance.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i7 256GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Platinum VNX-00007 review

The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 makes a small step forward, but we were expecting a giant leap.

Powerful hardware; Premium build quality; Excellent display

Not much new; Poor battery life

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i7 256GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Platinum VNX-00007 review

Still the best Windows 2-in-1 around, but it remains ahead due to the lack of highly recommendable alternatives. The performance upgrade here is excellent, but design-wise the huge bezels now look dated and Microsoft's dedication to Surface Connect is somewhat puzzling.

Up-to-date Intel processors make for powerful and snappy performance; Punchy screen colours and resolution; USB-C is a welcome addition

Lack of real change over predecessor; Big screen bezels; No Thunderbolt; So-so battery life (i7 tested); Expensive extras - when adding Type Cover and Pen
