Good Unit but Gets Hot

Bought for grandson to use at high school. Unit is overall good but back of screen which incorporates CPU does heat up causing concerns with reliability. Unit has no fan so relies on passive heat control. Have built a small potable fan unit to push cool air on back of screen which keeps it cool.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 (i5, 4GB RAM, 128GB, SSD, Win 10 Tablet) - Excellent review

The Surface PRO on a fundamental hardware level is fairly sound. It meets the needs of your average user, but may not appeal to people who need a high-performance machine. If you do casual website editing, blogging, small bursts of gaming, or browsing the internet, you should be OK.

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)

Microsoft's dream of merging the laptop with the tablet is realising bit by bit. The Surface Pro is a device that screams confidently that the dream has already come true. Should we pay heed though

A touchscreen display par excellence; Crisp audio; Magical accessories that complete the Surface Pro

Lukewarm performance; Cumbersome to handle at times; Those magical accessories are expensive

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i5 128GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Platinum VDV-00007 review

You can’t go wrong with the new Surface Pro 7 if you are in the market for a 2-in-1 Windows tablet. It’s a bit expensive and you have to pay extra for the accessories but it is a premium and powerful product. It has a nice form factor, vibrant display and delivers competent performance.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Intel i5 128GB SSD Convertible Tablet - Platinum VDV-00007 review

The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 improves on its predecessor with stronger performance and better ports, but its battery life is disappointing. The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 delivers big on performance and display quality, complete with a responsive screen for note-taking and drawing and a convertible...

Solid performance, Bright and colorful display, Excellent optional keyboard, USB-C port (finally)

Underwhelming battery life, Soft speakers

The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) Review: Evolution

The Surface Pro lineup has always been one of the most powerful tablet class devices around. Microsoft is no longer marketing it as a tablet that can replace your laptop anymore though, and they've acknowledged that most of the customers who buy and use the Surface Pro are looking for an...

It's been a week with the new Pro - Microsoft's part-tablet/part-laptop hybrid machine - and I already find myself looking longingly at the . It's not that the isn't a good and capable machine (it is), it's just that, well, the Laptop is much better for my needs - and, I'm sure, the needs of most...

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)

There was no shortage of question marks when Microsoft announced plans to launch its own line of Surface PCs, but credit where it's due, in the space of five years, Surface has become a benchmark for others in the industry.

Truly versatile form factor; Laptop performance in a tablet; Choice of excellent accessories; Incredibly quiet; if not silent; Delightful 3:2 display; Good battery life

Premium price tag; Surface Pen no longer included; Lacks USB Type-C
