Microsoft Surface Pro 5 12.3in i5 4GB 128GB (2017)

3.4
Verdict: We've used the Surface Pro series since the third generation, and there's no doubt this Surface Pro is the best one yet. It has good performance and great battery life and, because it's both a tablet and a laptop, it's a very versatile machine.

This Is the Best Surface Ever Made, But It's Still No Laptop

Verdict: The guts of a laptop packed into a tablet.
Pros: This is the best hybrid you can buy
Cons: It is still not a laptop

Verdict: It's been a week with the new Pro - Microsoft's part-tablet/part-laptop hybrid machine - and I already find myself looking longingly at the . It's not that the isn't a good and capable machine (it is), it's just that, well, the Laptop is much better for my needs - and, I'm sure, the needs of most...

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) review: Every bit the pro, but battery life is still a blow

4.0
Verdict: Say hello to the Microsoft Surface 5. Ok, ok, so it's "the new Microsoft Surface Pro", rather than adopting the generational number format in its name. And that's quite possibly because this fifth-generation model looks suspiciously like its predecessor.
Pros: Refined design is its best yet, new keyboard (sold separately) makes for best typing experience yet, great screen resolution and brightness, plenty of power available - but fanless Core i5 is probably your best bet
Cons: Battery life still isn't great (not in the Core i7 model anyway - fanless Core i5 ought to be better in this regard), keyboard not included, can get mighty expensive - to the point a laptop might make more sense

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) Review & Rating

4.2
Verdict: When Microsoft released the original Surface products –the first-gen Surface Pro and Surface RT–, we all asked: ‘' Did Microsoft have to make a Tablet?'' Now with the latest Surface, everyone is asking: ‘'Did Microsoft have to do it again?'' At first, we didn't understand…
Pros: Newer seventh-generation processors. Better, prolonged battery life (13 hours). Intuitive Surface Pen and Type Cover. Versatile motion on kickstand
Cons: Lacks USB-C or Thunderbolt 3. Type Cover and Pen Sold separately

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 12.3in i5 4GB 128GB (2017)

4.0
Verdict: There's one word you will rarely hear from Microsoft when it talks about the new Surface Pro: "tablet". Yes, if you take off the Type Cover (or just don't buy it), the Surface Pro looks and feels very much like a tablet. But Microsoft doesn't want you to think of it like that.

Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 (i5-7300U, 256 GB) Convertible Review

4.0
Verdict: The most noticeable difference between the old Surface Pro 4 and the new Surface Pro 2017 is the latter's improved battery life: more than 12 instead of 7 hours in our Wi-Fi test. No other contestant was able to get even close.
Pros: solid, classy design, noiseless, very good battery life (12 - 17 hours, decent camera with support for Windows Hello, very good microphone, bright display with good sRGB coverage, charges in 2 hours, very good performance in short bursts <2 minutes
Cons: significant throttling in sustained load scenarios, no USB Type-C, Signature Type Cover (2017) optional, Surface Pen (2017) optional, high price

Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 review: still the best Windows laptop/tablet hybrid, but who is it for?

3.6
Verdict: To me, the Surface Pro seems like a proof of concept. Can a very powerful Windows laptop be turned into a tablet? Turns out it can. Now, it's all very well me saying, 'I can't see the point of this for most people, why wouldn't you just buy a proper laptop or a proper tablet?
Pros: Superb screen, Good battery life, Undeniably versatile
Cons: Expensive at higher specs, Keyboard costs extra and is poor, Stylus costs extra again, although it is, admittedly, excellent

The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) Review: Evolution

No reviews
Verdict: The Surface Pro lineup has always been one of the most powerful tablet class devices around. Microsoft is no longer marketing it as a tablet that can replace your laptop anymore though, and they've acknowledged that most of the customers who buy and use the Surface Pro are looking for an...

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)

2.8
Verdict: Microsoft's dream of merging the laptop with the tablet is realising bit by bit. The Surface Pro is a device that screams confidently that the dream has already come true. Should we pay heed though
Pros: A touchscreen display par excellence, Crisp audio, Magical accessories that complete the Surface Pro
Cons: Lukewarm performance, Cumbersome to handle at times, Those magical accessories are expensive

Microsoft Surface Pro

3.5
Verdict: A tough question. It's neither a straightforward tablet, nor a tablet/laptop hybrid. It's more ambitious. The Surface Pro is nothing less than an attempt to create the perfect PC for the ‘Post PC' era. It's a tablet you can use at home on the sofa.
Pros: Outstanding screen, Innovative design, Windows 8 at its best, Comes with Wacom digitser pen
Cons: Heat and noise, No digitiser pen storage, Woeful battery life, Shallow app store

Overpriced for what it is, but a great machine

5.0
Verdict: I chose the Surface Pro because I needed a completely silent computer. Nothing else on Earth would've persuaded me to pay this much money for this very average spec, which isn't even a laptop as you have to buy all the expensive extras to turn it into one!

Mixed feeling with the Surface Pro 2017 i5. 8GB and 256GB

4.0
Verdict: After first windows update, the facial recognition function of the camera no longer working. Wasted a few days tried all the resolutions available online, no luck. It seems to be a known issue for a few years for the Intel image front camera. No definitive solution to it.

Nice bit of kit

5.0
Verdict: "Bought this for my son add he needed something lightweight but fully functional with office 365. It is! Reasonable battery life and seems to be getting better now he's charged it a few times and isn't fiddling with it as much. He loves the stylus which we bought separately.
Pros: Lightweight, Powerful, Stable, Good display

Great computer, handwriting recognition needs improvement

3.0
Verdict: I purchased an extra power supply, docking station, display port to 4K, and pen. My only issue has been when writing. Stray marks causes pauses in recognition. It happens if you use your finger or the pen. The only solution is to exit the program and renter.

Surface Complete - 45 Day limit

3.0
Verdict: * I would like to first note that have put this review under the seller experience; however, that option is not available, since the "seller" is Microsoft/Amazon. I have purchased more than 15 Surface devices and have yet to use any warranties. These are very solid devices (5-star).
