I already liked the Surface Pro 3 enough to have run out and bought one after reviewing it last year. The Surface Pro 4 is a step up, and it's going to be hard going back to using the Surface Pro 3 again.
Nobody knows what to make of the Microsoft Surface. It's neat looking, but kind of awkward. Great at certain things and oddly tantalizing, But who's it really for? Ack, fuck it. This latest hybrid iteration, the Surface Pro 4, is a refinement of sorts and sometimes subtle tweaks can go a long way...
I have received a defective surface pro PC. This is the second time I am getting such type of things. The right hand top of the screen has Grey/black portion of around 5MM X 5MM . It flickers many times. It is subtraction and a defect, I am attaching several screen shost.
I have chosen this rating because: Overall, the Surface Pro 4 is a great device and the pros definitely outweigh the cons. However, this device still has some issues and there are very little areas where it could be improved.
Great display; fantastic for browsing high quality videos and especially for schoolwork/business
In quiet environments, the fan is slightly loud; Battery life is not excellent, for this model you will get around 5 hours of battery life
-DOES NOT COME WITH THE KEYBOARD COVER! Does, however, come with the surface pen. -The micro SD slot is hard to find. It's tucked away underneath the kickstand on the right side, about an inch lower than the power port.
-Extremely fast startup -Runs fast; -Light -Long battery life, especially on low brightness and with power-saving mode on; -Completely silent unless it gets super-hot and actually has to turn on the fans, at which point it is still fairly quiet.
-Gets pretty warm under heavy stress, but it still doesn't take a hit to it's performance; -When connecting to my TV, I have to make sure I restart the tablet first or one of two things happens: either the touchscreen stops working, or it won't recognize the TV as a sound playback device.
This is a complete workhorse; definitely a laptop/notebook replacement. Its light and fast. When complemented with a docking station, external display and mouse, it takes the place of a desktop too.
It's the best of both worlds laptop tablet awesome better than I expected love it it is exactly what I needed and wanted fast portable and backed by Microsoft.
I was looking for a laptop replacement for my 6 year old Lenovo Thinkpad. I also wanted to portability and form factor of a tablet, The Surface Pro 4 is a perfect solution. I highly recommend it. I use it mainly for office applications and corp email - it performs perfectly.
I traded in my older Surface RT for the Surface Pro 4, and I am generally very pleased. Some bugs remain that need to be worked out, however. For example, like with the RT and my laptop that still operates on Windows 8, the touch screen goes dead unpredictably pending a system reboot.
