As Microsoft's first genuine rival to Apple's MacBooks, the Surface Laptop has a lot riding on it. Not only is the company's second notebook looking to take on Apple's recently-refreshed laptops, it's also tasked with launching the new version of the company's operating system, Windows 10 S.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 128GB i5 8GB

Looks and works great; Very stylish

The general Windows gripes, Edge is terrible and the stupid apps that MS recommends for me such as Candy Crush; Can only do lightweight gaming

Microsoft Surface Laptop (Consumer Model) - i5 /4GB Ram /128GB SSD / Windows 10 S -Platinum -Clearance Special /While Stocks Last

Extreme build quality and very powerful laptop for the price. The slim and sleek design is perfect to carry around and as a daily. Pretty impressed with battery backup too. The inside keyboard surface seems a bit under quality compared to the overall build.

Microsoft Surface Laptop

Last year's Surface Laptop has finally arrived in India. Will it pose a threat to the MacBook Air or go unnoticed Read on to find out.

Precise keyboard; Crisp touchscreen display; MacBook-level aesthetics

Display won't tilt back all the way; Insufficient IO ports; High asking price

Microsoft Surface Laptop Review: Elegant, Efficient and Expensive

Microsoft has experienced its fair share of success with the Surface line-up of 2-in-1 detachable PCs, and rightfully so, as those devices offer portability and computing prowess in a sleek form factor.

Lightweight and portable; Excellent design; Long-lasting battery; Well-balanced audio output

Older generation processor; Dire lack of ports; Heats during intensive tasks

We waited years for Microsoft to launch its Surface tablets in India, and it's taken even longer for the Surface Book and Surface Laptop to arrive. This family of devices is meant to showcase Windows to the best possible extent - they're all unapologetically premium , but more than that, they're...

Bright; sharp screen; Very light and thin; Good performance for everyday tasks

Bright; sharp screen; Very light and thin; Good performance for everyday tasks; Only one USB 3.0 port; Gets a bit warm with heavy use; Impossible to upgrade or repair; Expensive

Microsoft's Surface Laptop review: the best looking Windows laptop you've ever seen

The best looking Windows laptop you've ever seen; Good keyboard, trackpad, battery life, and performance; Windows Hello is stupid fast

Windows 10 S is not nearly enough for most people; A standard laptop isn't great for pen and touch; Cortana-led setup is obnoxious

Mashable Choice highlights the best of everything we cover, have experienced first-hand and would recommend to others. Like so many students, the very first laptop I had was a MacBook (the plastic one, not the new 2-pounder ).
