Bought this when our son was getting surface book 2. The dial has a great range - you can use it from a different room. With a be click and rotation it takes over from the mouse - the programme software is key for functions available. Really like the dial and would recommend.
When I learned the Surface Dial can be used with my non-Surface Windows 10 PC, I bought it as a perfect solution to having a volume knob to mute and control the volume as I listen to video with widely varying volumes between program segments and advertisements. And it does many other tricks as well.
When Microsoft announced the all-in-one Surface Studio last October, the company also unveiled a new input device called the Surface Dial. The Dial is designed to work with the Studio, either sitting on the desk or being placed directly on the screen.
