disintegrating mouse wheel

This otherwise fantastic mouse has a serious flaw: the rubber mouse wheel turns to goo after around 12 months and became virtually unusable by month 24. Also, right out of the box the indexing notches for the mouse wheel were not very firm and before too long the wheel started slipping between...

"Flawless mouse."

Haven't had a single problem with this mouse, perfect size for a teen - adult hand with enough buttons to bind all sorts of goodies to! Although I did have trouble binding a key to the thumb button and having the same key work on ventrilo, it did work eventually though.

Disappointed

I used to own one of the original sidewinder x5s many moons ago, so was looking forward to receiving this one. However, I have to confess to disappointment upon opening the box and finding the new "improved" version within.

Review Microsodt SW X5

Microsoft Sidewinder X5 Gaming Mouse ARB-00001

Figuring out what makes a good gaming mouse is always difficult. The mouse is definitely one of the most varied input devices around for computers. You find all sorts of different types of mice on the market for both gaming and regular usage.

On the fly dpi switching with settings up to 2000dpi; Laser tracking sensor; Large ergonomic design; 5 customizable buttons including two side buttons; Crisp feeling mouse buttons

Annoying LEDs on the back of the mouse; Shortcut key that cannot be customized; Dpi setting buttons uncomfortable to reach

Pretty Good

This mouse is decent. I enjoy the fact that I can change the sensitivity on the fly with the buttons on the top, and it is a very robust mouse that serves your needs. I use it for gaming as well as every day things like web browsing and work.

Great mouse

I've been using this mouse heavily for about 4 years and everything works just like the first day.

2 thumb buttons 3 dpi buttons wired

It's pretty big; Not really a con unless you have small hands
