Poor typing posture can wreak havoc on your wrists, but few people take the time to correct such hazardous habits. Enter Microsoft's Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. Although it took us a while to get used to the keyboard's unconventional design, the results were worth the effort.

Good design; padded palm rest; comfortable

Little too expensive

Extreme key lettering fade

Over the years paid a premium for Microsoft-branded products. Worth the extra cost due to performance and longevity. Until now. Keys started fading to the point some are now unreadable and when a few more become unreadable I will toss the unusable device.

Product does its job

Extreme key fade starting at 2-weeks use

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 Review

The wrist rest is literally built onto the keyboard and is not removable, but there's nothing to complain about it. Why? Its Leatherette cushioning is friggin' comfortable, by far the best wrist rest I've laid palms on.

good purchase

This keyboard seems to keep going up in price, but periodically goes on sale. Wait for a discount and get one. I have 2 and haven't had any problems with the space bar. One con is that I found out that this USB keyboard is not compatible with a PS/2 adapter, which now makes my KVM switch useless.

comfortable and sleek

USB not compatible with PS/2

Only buy it new!!!

I've owned 4 of these Microsoft 4000 Ergonomic Keyboards now. I love the keyboard, that's why I bought 4 but they are somewhat problematic (or at least they can be). The first 3 I bought each had the same problem.

Great Value

Great features and easy to setup especially with the unreliablility of VISTA. Office users are happy and have switched from conventional keyboards to ergo keyboards.

Microsoft Natural Ergo Keyboard 4000

I've used microsoft's earlier version of this keyboard years ago. Between then and now I've used an assortment of keyboards. Several months ago I started using this at the office to make typing more comfortable. It has a negative slope design with the keys at an outward angle.

"Scary Looking but Comfortable Keyboard"

A year or so ago at work a few of my collegaues and I were encouraged by our IT Manager to try out a couple of different keyboards and mice. The idea was to see if any of the ergonomic products available would be benifical for us that use them for the majority of the time at work.

Comfort

Daunting to look at; Price

Great buy!

I purchased this to help relieve arthritis pain in my hands while gaming and while it takes some getting used to, it does the trick. My pain level is down thanks to the better positioning of my hands and wrists.
