Is handy that I can charge through it too. Does get warm when charging and using HDMI video output, but not hot enough to worry. The metal outside dissipates heat well. I like that it has a cable so i don't have to worry about snapping off the USB-C port inside my laptop. I use it most days and it hasn't let me down
