Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Nintendo Switch) Review

It's easy to imagine the surprise of people when it was announced back in the early 1990s that Mario would star in a game about racing on go-karts, or even that Mario would star in his very own RPG developed by none other than SquareSoft, then an absolute king of JRPG.

Really fun in the new vs the situation, the kids 6 and 7 are doing well enough to beat Dad 38. Story is ok but it's fun together, hope for further vs courses! Value for 350 or whatever it costs A lot of humor!

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a great entry point for strategy games, and has a ton of layered depth to keep seasoned tacticians engaged for days on end.

Mario + Rabbids defies the stigma the Rabbids bring to the table and delivers a solid tactics-based game.

Amazing soundtrack; solid tactical gameplay; great graphics and world variety

No way to rewind moves; difficulty spikes

Something strange is about to happen to the Mushroom Kingdom. No Princess Peach hasn't been kidnapped by Bowser. Instead the Rabbids have arrived and well, something has happened to corrupt a whole bunch of them. It is time for the plumbers and crew to arm themselves and shoot them bad guys.

Captures the essence of both Mario and XCOM perfectly; Well designed puzzles; Puns

Multiple phase boss fights; Tactical camera could zoom out a bit more; Later levels lack in enemy variety; Takes really long to unlock all the heroes

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Review – The Best of Both Worlds

Okay, so maybe I've been irreparably spoiled by the Disgaea series, but I want the ability to cancel a move action after it's been made. I recognize that certain elements of unit behaviour preclude this possibility.

Visuals are thick with Nintendo Polish; Rabbids are charming as either heroes or villains; Combat system is deep yet accessible

Game too hard or too easy depending on your experience; You can't cancel a move once you've made it; More worlds with fewer chapters; please

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Review – Switch

Without a doubt, there are very few collaborations that have ever raised the eyebrows of the collective gaming community quite like that of the unlikely union of Nintendo's Mario and Ubisoft's Raving Rabbids franchises.

Positives + Solid combat mechanics + Most unlikely franchise pairing actually works + Strong visuals and animations + Co-op based challenge mode

Negatives; Can get downright hard at times; Players that focus on a few characters may face hard times later; Mistakes can cost you

A new kind of Mario party

How Ubisoft's Rabbids become intertwined with Nintendo's Mushroom Kingdom, featuring Mario and friends, is unimportant. Ambivalence towards Rabbid-style toilet humor might cause you to question this dubious marriage, but there's an admirable and wholehearted commitment in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom...

Deep and exciting turn-based combat system; Satisfyingly challenging difficulty; Flexible options and helpful tools encourage progress and experimentation; An undeniably charming; vibrant world

Some minor technical imperfections

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a must have for Switch-owning fans of turn-based tactical games. More importantly, such is the style and depth on offer that it's also ideal for those that haven't played much of the genre, for whom 'X-COM' sounds like a silly acronym from a war movie.

Review: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Space Jam. Kingdom Hearts. Mayweather vs. McGregor. Three examples to show how fantastic crossovers can be. And then we have Alien vs. Predator to show us how bad they can get.
