Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle review

There's a number of people who see evil when they look in a Rabbid's eyes. They don't see the playful nature of a mischievous scamp, they see a Bugs Bunny that's befriended Trainspotting's Sick Boy.

Looks like a mainline Mario game; Linking up to cause damage is joy when it comes off; Rabbid Peach

Some battles go on a bit longer than wanted

Review: Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle should not work and should not be this fun, but it does work and it is that much fun. Ubisoft has done a commendable job in bridging two franchises together. If you're a Nintendo Switch owner, this is one game you should put into your library.

Exciting gameplay; Decent challenge; Colourful; vibrant world

Little offered in terms of content in the worlds

Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom Review – Accessible, light, and a true Mario experience

Admit it! When you first heard that Ubisoft had landed itself the Mario license to make a strategy game that starred its polarizing cast of insane “not-Minions†Rabbids, you just about burst a blood vessel in your brain. "Who do they think they are, messing with an iconic character in this way?

Addictive with some flaws

Game has pretty grafiics and is very addictive but the story is way to long and kind of annoying. Battles are good puzzles lol...but again is addictive and entertain.

...

Well...there are many things i can say about this game, but if you want both your kids senity and their well being, do not let your kids play this game. It infuriating and is not for kids that this game is supposedly "design" for.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

The Mushroom Kingdom and madcap world of Ubisoft's Rabbids are two franchises I never thought would go together, but much like peanut butter and jam, they have combined to create something beautiful.

An absolutely stunning world; Deep combat system that isn't at all complicated; So much fun to play; The two worlds work really well together

Not much to do outside of combat; Sharp difficulty spikes

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle review – enemy well known

Despite owing so much to XCOM, this is a fantastically imaginative and enjoyable strategy game that's as accessible as the genre has ever been on consoles.

The core gameplay is simple to learn but surprisingly deep, with the ability to constantly surprise you with new features and enemies; Excellent controls and presentation; Fun co-op mode

Uneven difficulty curve can be frustrating; There's not quite enough to do outside of battles, and it lacks the same depth of options as its obvious inspiration

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle – catchup review

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is the game the world wasn't prepared for. The world also wasn't prepared for it to be as good as it is. Giving Mario a gun and make him fight Rabbids in a weird XCom mashup doesn't exactly sound like it'd work, but it does – for the most part.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle review

This wonky crossover is the unlikely source of a superbly designed tactical combat challenge as well as a charmingly silly adventure.

Nothing about Mario Rabbids should work. It's enough of a shock that Ubisoft Milan managed to bring together these two worlds so well, then it successfully makes its cast the stars of a genre none of them has ever been near.
