Great fun with friends, confusing to split joycons first time
I feel this game deserves 5 stars, but I have dropped 1 star due to the lack of instructions on how to split the joycons so you can play 2 player with one each… For anyone wondering how Todo this, go into a multiplayer game, when the control prompt shows up press flip your joycon sideways and press both SL + SR at the same time, repeat this with the second joycon and you should be set To revert back to a single control press L + R at the same time in the control menu
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is why you should own a Nintendo Switch
Just as with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , Nintendo has somehow managed to create another game that goes above and beyond all expectation. Not only is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe good, it's unbelievably good for something that essentially amounts to a refreshed release of a three-year-old title.- 42 racers
- 48 courses and so much new content
- Battle Mode is back and better than ever
- Plenty of content to keep Mario Kart 8 completionist's occupied
- Price seems somewhat steep for those who already own Mario Kart 8
- Full online functionality isn't ready quite yet
Awesome party game with heaps of replay value.
I've spent countless hours playing this with the mates on Wii U, and the Switch version is even better. Native 1080p at 60fps looks incredible, the new battle mode is good fun, and online lobbies are easier to come by. The fact that Only 2 sets of joycon are needed for 4 players is convenient if there is already another switch in the house too!
It takes some guts to launch a port of a game in your previous generation as a big release on your shiny new console, but that's exactly what Nintendo have done. Many a gamer never got to play the fantastic Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U.
- Multiple multiplayer options
- Battle mode is now worthy of your time
- All the DLC on the Wii U included
- Small improvements that'll please veterans of the game
- Play it anywhere you want
- Lacking a missions mode
- Not being able to switch items if you have two
Racing games are in an interesting spot right now. Hardcore driving enthusiasts get their fix through games such as Forza Motorsport, Gran Turismo, and Assetto Corsa , while those who don't care as much about an authentic driving experience can play awesome games such as Forza Horizon 3 or even...

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Review: Hands down the best portable racing experience
There is something special about Mario Kart that resonates with fanboys of Nintendo , and while I was not a hardcore fanboy of the series, things have changed now. I remember playing Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U and having a blast, so when the Switch's library of games dwindled, all hope in the console...
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Review - Race and Battle Your Way Through Familiar Locales
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the definitive Mario Kart experience where you can have fun unlocking items while playing against your friends.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition Review
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch is a no-brainer for fans and/or Switch owners - easily the best version of Mario Kart released to date on any platform and yet another killer app for Nintendo's fledgling hardware.
As I pointed out above, this is the same exceptional racing game that bowed in 2014, but as my review hopefully attests, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the definitive version of it. Everything that made Mario Kart 8 special has returned and been amplified, and the additions (including new characters, plus...
Good second game to release on Switch
Mario Kart 8 is a fun casual racing game but local multiplayer is pretty taxing without a joycon wheel. Not really happy to spend over $70 for this ‘everything unlocked’ rerelease of MK8.
