My first impression of the Maglite XL200 LED flashlight is positive, but with some hesitation.

A contractor had one of these on the job when he came to do PM work for me. I liked the function and having three Maglite 3D cell flashlights myself and loving them I bought these. One by one the three of them stopped working. I contacted Maglite who refused to look at them for service or warrantee.
Bought new one, and it's not working. Yes, I tried new batteries, checked all contacts and lock - unlock flashlight. The LED is not working. Does Maglite testing their products before sell Very bad.
This is an awesome light. I work in aircraft maintenance and this light is one of my most used tools. The size is perfect, its fits in my hand great and can squeeze into tight spots. Many lights with the same amount of power are twice the size. The adjustable brightness is wonderful and easy to use.
I've had this light for about 2 years now and have brought it around everywhere I go.It's bright enough to get through a majority of task without draining the batteries. At first there is quite a learning curve dude to the button settings.

I have two of these lights. For what it is, it does it well but for the same price you could buy an entry level light from Fenix or Nitecore that is 4 times as powerful. You can buy a knockoff of these mentioned lights for a third of this price and still blow the specs of the Maglite away.
I used it at the cottage this weekend. It gets dark early in the winter, so you need a good flashlight, especially in the bush. Fits in my jacket pocket and I don't really notice it's in there. I like the intensity of the light, it's very bright when you want it to be.
