Okay

Bloody and brutal and a little fun but hit detection is a little off and the move sets are not too appealing. On a positive note, the playable broad has a nice digital @$$!

Lollipop Chainsaw Review (PS3)

PlayStation LifeStyle's review of Lollipop Chainsaw for the PlayStation 3.

+Great music and interesting flair to the presentation

-Combat does very little to help the game along, -Short game; about as bad as the lame jokes

"Lollipop Chainsaw: Juliet the Zombie Slayer"

Lollipop Chainsaw is the latest game from Goichi Suda, better known to those in the industry as Suda 51. In the west the Japanese video game director is probably best known for the No More Heroes series, which debuted on the Wii, and Killer7 a bizarre shooter that attracted a cult following during...

Good voice acting and music; funny dialogue; lots of unlockables to collect

Story only lasts between 6 and 8 hours; combat is a little repetitive; camera could be better

Lollipop Chainsaw Review

Desperate to fall in love with Lollipop Chainsaw? Or perhaps itching to be disgusted by it? Bad news, I'm afraid: either way, you're going to leave a little disappointed. If you're waiting for a scrappy B-movie classic to emerge - as Grasshopper's taste for bizarro Americana and broad-strokes irony...

Lollipop Chainsaw review

Suda51 and his Grasshopper Manufacture studio are known for iconic and madcap games, and this latest undead-meets-cheerleaders festival of fan-service is no exception. Jae straps on his shortest skirt and steps into battle.

Great selection of music, new and old; Comedic banter between main characters is entertaining; One great level brings back 8-bit gaming nostalgia

The odd button layout constantly confuses, even with repetitious button, combos; Lazy animation throughout repeated scenes; Volatile difficulty curve, early bosses seem harder than later ones

Lollipop Chainsaw

New original properties: they're something that gamers lament never seeing often enough. At times, it seems as though the video game in...

The inherent joy of chainsawing zombies; Inventively funny script and soundtrack; Grasshopper's unique style

Lacks variety; Too short on content; Not good enough to support its pedigree

Lollipop Chainsaw is cheery and obscene, but it doesn't hit its marks consistently enough to be more than a passing amusement.

Juliet isn't having the best birthday. Sure, she's a chirpy, fresh-faced, popular 18-year-old cheerleader with a perfect body and a loving family, but her handsomely chiseled boyfriend has turned into a zombie, and things just aren't looking up.

Some funny jokes and references; Frequent gameplay excursions mix up the pace; Fun boss battles

Too often crude without being clever; Control and camera quirks; Combat lacks depth and finesse

Lollipop Chainsaw

Lollipop Chainsaw injects comedy into a zombie themed hack and slash adventure. It's style isn't for everyone but for those that approach it with an open mind you'll found a very unique and wacky adventure. Your character for this over the top adventure is Juliet Starling, a p...

Creative boss battles – Over the top in all ways

Early levels are slow and linear – Style isn't for everyone – Some mini games are lacking

Lollipop Chainsaw (PS3) - Review

Scantily clad, chainsaw-wielding, freshly legal cheerleader... check. Vulgar-quipping, wacked-out zombies... check. Outrageous, over-the-top, B-Movie quality styled dialogue... check. Disembodied head that acts as both special weapon and said chainsaw-wielding cheerleader's boyfriend... check.

This game is not meant to take seriously. I had fun playing this game but overall this game is pretty bad. The story is quite short, the jokes are bad, and the game play is rather repetitive. You play as a blonde cheerleader with a chainsaw and you kill zombies...enough said.
