Logitech Pure-Fi Express

The Pure-Fi Express joins Logitech's range of speaker systems that complement the ubiquitous iPod. This product includes a protective case, and the dock runs on batteries, as well as mains, so is clearly geared at those wishing to share their little Apple portable's tunes wherever they go.

Well-balanced sound; takes batteries; relatively portable

Lacks the composure and presence of bigger MP3 speaker systems

The company's Pure-Fi Express Plus rolls in around $100 and it's designed to be a simple, compact stereo speaker with a built-in clock and alarm that can be used at home or taken on the road, so long as you're willing to splurge on a set of six AA batteries that power the unit when you cut the cord.

Logitech's relatively inexpensive Pure-Fi Express Plus is a compact--and portable--iPod/iPhone speaker system with a built-in alarm clock that's fine for casual listening at home or on the road.

Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus

Like the rest of Logitech's range of Pure-Fi products, the Pure-Fi Express Plus is built to a high standard. It's an iPod dock and alarm clock that doesn't have a complicated interface. For a casual listener or traveller it's a good choice.

Omnidirectional speakers work well; easy interface and iPod control

No rechargeable battery; no radio; distortion at full volume
