Logitech G series is for serious gamers and others, like me, who understand that gaming technology, especially mechanical key switches and Hero optical mice sensors, can add a new productivity dimension to office work too.
Lightspped wireless really works for gamers; good for office use too
None really
Wireless keyboards and mechanical switches don't go together. Or, at least, they haven't before. There are plenty of sensible reasons for the divide between the two technologies, primary of which is the usual proximity between keyboard and PC.
I had another logitech keyboard (non-mechanical), but I was not enjoying it. However, I have had many great logitech buys over the years, I'm quite loyal to the brand. I learnt touch typing at school many years ago, and I was right to think that I deserved a better keyboard. This one is marvellous.
For the last 7 years I've been working exclusively from a laptop keyboard. Before that, my last full keyboard was the Logitech MX Revolution wireless combo. It was always "okay" but I don't remember ever loving it. Last week I purchased the g613 from Micro Center in Marietta, GA, and I LOVE IT!
Typing on this keyboard brings me back to when I had my Commodore 64......in a good way! I could type on this thing all day (and actually I do). It look awesome with the black and dark grey tones. The Wireless and Bluetooth functions work flawlessly and there is no noticeable lag.
If you can stomach Romer-G switches though, the G613 is a decent option for living room use. It will last for months on end, is thin enough to tuck under or beside the couch, has a set of macro keys if you want to quickly launch your favorite programs, has large and accessible media keys, and is...
Logitech's G613 could benefit from backlighting, especially for living room usage, but long battery life and multiple pairing options make it a solid...
Lasts up to 18 months on two AA batteries; Media keys are easily distinguished; Dual Bluetooth and Lightspeed wireless modes
Romer-G Tactile switches still aren't our favorite; No backlighting on the main keyboard; Wrist rest feels like overkill when using the G613 on a desk
If you've ever had a wireless keyboard, especially mechanical ones, you'll know that they often times are so painful to set up (no thanks to Windows 10) that you'll get sick of the process and just stick to a cabled connection after some time.
