Review: LittleBigPlanet 3 is undoubtedly the best entry in the series

If you have the time to learn it, this is a game that makes it feel like almost anything is possible.

So much potential; the only limit is imagination; Some great tutorials to ease new players in

No guidance for much of the harder stuff; The new characters; though cute; don't fit in

LittleBigPlanet 3 Review

LittleBigPlanet' s debut at Game Developers Conference in 2007 inspired promise that is almost impossible to quantify today. It seemed insane. An arts & crafts platformer where you made your own levels and seamlessly shared them with other players who you could also collaborate with? Madness!

Clean arts & crafts style still rules; New characters and items impressively change up LBP's platforming; Creative tools still allow for incredible range in making your own games

Campaign does little to teach how to use creative tools; Constant interruptions for ineffective tutorials and pontificating; New characters far too under used

LittleBigPlanet 3

Once again we're reunited with Sackboy (or Sackgirl), a household name with a history of creativity and jovial optimism. Strangely, on the eve of Sony's flagship franchise making its first appearance on PlayStation 4, Media Molecule passes the reins to a new developer in Sumo Digital. The result...

The time has finally arrived for one of the most creative and imaginative games to arrive on the PS4. The LittleBIGPlanet franchise has not only proven, time and time again, that a successful game need not contain bullets, violence or weapons of mass destruction, and that it can be fun for all ages.

New Character Levels Are Awesome | Bosses Are Fun | Loads of Extras

Quite A Few Bugs | Very Long Loading Times | Freezes Occasionally | Very Short

LittleBigPlanet 3 Review – LBP Couldn't Possibly Get More Creative? Think Again…

I'll admit it; I'm a fan of the LittleBigPlanet (LBP) series. It's adorable, quirky, and can be the simplest or most complex game you want it to be. Heavily based on user creations, LBP is a game that connects people all over the world by allowing the opportunity to share or experience various ideas...

LittleBigPlanet 3 review – Sackboy and?friends

LittleBigPlanet is once again its own worst enemy, as it fails to make the best use of its own fun new characters. Although the creation tools are the most accessible they've ever been.

The new characters are great and so too are Sackboy's new range of items; Great visuals and art design, and the Creation mode is the best yet – especially Popit Puzzles

Surprisingly little use is made of the new characters in story mode and the co-op mode is weirdly limited; Platform controls still aren't great; Lots of bugs and glitches

LittleBigPlanet 3 review

Without these problems, I'd have no hesitation in saying this is the best LittleBigPlanet game to date. The deeper integration of creative elements into the story is a big plus, as is the superior level design, and the new characters are very welcome, even if they're ultimately underused.

LittleBigPlanet 3 Review – Potential Theory (PS4)

Time to dig in with some wobble bolts and Sackbots!

Looks and feels like LBP proper; Consistently smooth gameplay; New characters change the way the game is played

A debilitating Popit bug might hamper your enjoyment tremendously

LittleBigPlanet 3 Review

There was a moment, early on in LBP3, where Hugh Laurie's character, Newton, referred to me as something like "Chappy, Chappy, Chap". I smirked, and felt immediately very stupid as to how much this ha

Gorgeous looking and great sounding; Platforming seems tighter than before; Level design is fantastic

Inconsistent difficulty; New characters are under-used; Campaign is far too short
