Linksys WRT 32X Review: Router Makes Gaming a Priority

With the classic good looks of Linksys' WRT networking gear, the WRT 32X gaming router combines a low latency design and a way to prioritize your home's Wi-Fi throughput, but lags on overall performance. At $299 it lacks the latest security, although it should appeal to heavy-duty gamers.
Pros:
  • Low latency design
  • Killer Prioritization Engine
  • Excellent interface
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Lags other routers on speed

Linksys WRT32X Gaming Router review

Gaming and Wi-Fi don't traditionally go hand in hand. Latency, lower pings, the possibility of signal drops, interference, your roommate clogging the thing with 4K streams of goodness knows what – these things are not what FPS fiends look for when they're in the high-paced world of online gaming.
Pros:
  • Great Wi-Fi speed and spread
  • Excellent for gamers
  • in theory
  • Revised firmware interface
Cons:
  • So
  • so expensive
  • Gaming features of limited use

There was a time where the only biggest perk that a "gaming router" had to offer its target audience came in the form of aesthetics. An appeal that echoed a lot of the language and logic surrounding the design of laptops in the niche.
Pros:
  • Ping improvements
  • Great UI
Cons:
  • Premium price
  • Mileage may vary

Linksys WRT32X review: A gaming router which favours Killer Networking traffic

With more internet-connected devices in today's household, bandwidth can be somewhat of a commodity - especially when trying to game. While there are a number of MU-MIMO (multiple user, multiple-input and multiple-output ) routers currently available, they can fall short even though they allow for...

The WRT32x is easily my favorite WRT to date and I think that says a lot because I have owned all iterations, some multiple times. The build quality is on par with the best in the market and further, I love the all black, silver logo of the WRT branding on this solution.

It has gotten so bad that I revert to an older router

I have been a massive fan of Linksys in the past, but this latest version is nothing but a headache. They recently pushed out a firmware update that has caused connection issues for many people including myself. Devices will disconnect after just a few minutes. Some won't even connect at all.
