Linksys' AC1200 Amplify RE6700 Wi-Fi range extender device promises to expand your wireless coverage by up to 10,000 square feet.

The extender's range is good but not quite as good as the best access points. The signals from my 3- and 4-antenna access points are usable to about 25% more distance. That's still pretty good for such a compact package.

This range extender does very well at latching onto a remote signal and rebroadcasting it for nearby clients; You'll get the best result by connecting it to your access point with on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

There is a 3.5 mm audio jack to stream audio wirelessly from Android, iOS, or other OSes; This would have been really convenient if it had worked since I had placed this behind my HTPC.

I purchased a Linksys before I bought this one and had to return it since it was suppose to be no box but not used, Well it was used and the instructions were old and could not set up so I returned it This one is brand new and it took me only about 5 min to set it up..

First of all, the installation instructions are almost non-existent. It turns out that the install is quite easy so once I figured out how to install the Linksys RE6700, I was very disappointed that it did not offer better coverage than I already had. My router is in my basement office.

This was up and operational in five minutes - easy to do, very effective from what we can see. Note: It will set up two ancillary networks in your location, so there is some balancing to do once you get it in place with the devices attached to it. It's explained, but not very well on the site.

We used to have a weak connection in our masterbedroom. After setting this up we got atleast 25 mbps download and 7 mbps upload speed in our bedroom, up from 4mbps download and 0.9mbps upload speed.
