We've had the chance to review the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon in the past and every time we've walked away impressed. This year the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is back yet again and we had a chance to go hands-on at CES 2018.
Beautiful design while remaining ThinkPad tough; Great display; even at 1080p; Thin and light great portability; Great performance; strong enough to run Adobe Premiere; Webcam privacy shutter; Strong battery life
Speakers could use some improvement; Webcam could be better; Could be pricey for some users

high-end; light; and slim chassis; very bright WQHD panel with wide color gamut; decent performance utilization of the quad-core CPU; modern port selection including regular USB Type-A; good system performance; excellent keyboard; long battery runtime; three-year warranty; fast SD reader..
...but only microSD and tricky to access; very glossy screen; HDR is not supported yet; high surface temperatures under load; fan quickly reacts to load and emits a high-pitched noise; not "WWAN-ready; very limited maintenance; LAN only via (included) adapter
Every year since 2012, Lenovo went out of its way to create what it deems to be the ultimate mobile warrior machine: the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Each year (aside from the touch panel hiccup in 2014 ), it inches its way to perfection.
