REVIEW: SLR Magic 50mm f/0.95 Hyperprime Lens Review

Handling and features This manual focus telephoto lens is available to fit Micro Four Thirds, Sony NEX and Fujifilm X-series cameras. In Micro Four Thirds guise, as tested here, the lens provides an angle of view equivalent to a 100mm telephoto lens on a 35mm camera and sports an incredibly bright...

Leica's Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH & Summilux-M 24mm f/1.4 ASPH; Super Fast For Low Light And More

In my heart I know that few readers can afford these kinds of expensive lenses, but there are always those who can and for the rest of us, it's something to dream about.

Lens Test: Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH

Not only is this $10,000 gem the priciest lens we've ever tested, it's the fastest one made-and the first manualfocus we've had on our bench in years. A full-framer, it scales up to 67mm on the Leica M8 and M8.2.

Amazing results!

I have been playing around with this lens for the past week. I can confirm the two things I've heard from others who own this lens: first, it is very hard to focus -- the lower the light you're in the more difficult it is to focus; second, when opened up to .95, the spot you've focused on is razor...

The nifty fifty $$$

I bought this with all I have in the bank and sold my left lung just to have this lens. Now all I have left are beautiful pictures on the wall if I even have a wall to hang them (no money to pay my rent). I gave it a 2 stars because I sold the other 3 star and my kidney to buy the Leica body. Pro...

A True Gem in optics.

I bought this lens from Adorama in March 2010 after months of waiting. Unfortunately, the first sample was defective right out of the box. The aperture simply locked up between F/.95 and F/1.4. I called Adorama, they could not exchange it as the lens is very difficult to get.

If you can afford this and get your hands on, Grab it!

This lens is the King of Kings! I could not get this lens for a year, and still very happy with Noctilux f1.0 (3rd gen). The bokeh was factastic and stop down, you get sharp photos as good as any Summilux/Summicron. However, I kept looking for 0.95.

SLR Magic 50mm f/0.95 Hyperprime Lens Review

Gary Wolstenholme reviews the SLR Magic 50mm f/0.95 Hyperprime lens.

Fast f/0.95 maximum aperture; Decent sharpness in the centre when stopped down; Delivers quite a unique look; Metal build

Loose aperture ring with no damping; Out of focus backgrounds can look quite busy due to aperture shape; No hood included

Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH - Review / Test Report

That amount of money can buy you a lot of things. A new large flat screen TV, a state-of-the art gaming PC, that cruise you've always been dreaming of (or your wife), a pre-owned car maybe, or finally that full-frame camera with a nice set of quality primes. Or a Leica normal prime.

Ultra fast and crisp.

First class lens and arrived ultra quick. This is hard to get and worth every penny if you want an ultra fast lens.
