Whether you're a fan or not, HD re-releases of games are a thing now, but Legend of Kay Anniversary threw me for some kind of existential loop. Bad voice acting and script; Bland; dissonant story; Terrible platforming camera; Frustrating combat; Racist stereotypes; The control mapping is accurate

I could go on ranting about the game but it wouldn't do any good. The Legend of Kay: Anniversary is clearly a game that wasn't shown much love in its remake. Instead, it looks and feels like a game that was put out back in 2005 with a somewhat prettier wrapping plastered over it.

This is not the remaster Legend of Kay needed nor deserved. Legend of Kay: Anniversary improves on many parts of the game except the one which held it back in the first place, namely the camera.

As many of my reviews have shown, I like to revisit titles that get the HD remaster treatment, whether they're good or bad. In the case of Legend of Kay, it's sort of a mixed bag.

Great platforming and challenging combat with a great deal of variety in the missions. The updated graphics are fantastic and I especially love the soundtrack and the comic book style cutscenes.

I originally missed out on this one when I was young so I finally picked it up. Recently finished it and it feels amazing. Looks and feels like a PS2 game. Kay moves smoothly, no frame rate issues that I've ran into.

This game is for those individuals who are either thirsty for a throwback 3D platformer or for those individuals who would like to have another decent game that is family friendly and parent approved. The game itself isn't too bad, but it's not one that you'll be boasting about.
