a maddeningly messy mech/stealth hybrid
The only people that will truly enjoy the game are either those that actually love a challenge, or those of you that are more interested in the story aspect of a game than the mechanics, since this is the only department where Left Alive impressed me.
The Story; The graphics
Confusing controls; Difficult even on the easiest settings; Getting used to the death screen; Silly enemy AI at times; Aiming is a pain
Front Mission is the perfect example of a franchise with a deep lore and quality entries that has been completely mismanaged. In the West, the Front Mission IP just can't catch a break. The first entry released outside of Japan was 2000's Front Mission 3 .
Interesting characters; setting; and plot
AI is unpredictable; and not in a good way; Stealth game without stealth kills = frustration; Screeches that the enemy is approaching non-stop; Tags
It's a stealth or action game and is rubbish at both. The AI will drive you up the wall and the three protagonists are forgettable. There is absolutely nothing, other than some beautiful artwork and a decent soundtrack, that leaves any hope alive of it being any good.
Decent soundtrack; You get space on your HDD when you delete it
Your AI - Caution; the enemy is approaching; Horrific controls; Escort missions aplenty
Square Enix's Left Alive is a stealth-survival game where the stealth gameplay barely seems to work and the survival mechanics hardly ever seem to matter. Often the beginning of a level in this "stealth" game will have a reminder (delivered through cutscene dialogue) that advises the player to avoid...
The mech parts are fun; Story & characters are ironically entertaining
Stealth gameplay barely works; Survival mechanics hardly matter; Clunky controls; Poor A.I
A game bursting with interesting ideas but dragged down by a lack of technical competence and some very outdated ideas about game design and controls.
The premise is excellent and despite the weak graphics the atmosphere can be impressively oppressive; Mixture of stealth, action, and survival gameplay has great potential
The controls are atrocious, ruining both the combat and the stealth sections; Low-tech, unpredictable AI, horribly infrequent checkpoints, and multiple difficulty spikes
