We're spoilt for choice when it comes to premium-quality smartphones, with the LG V30, as well as the larger LG V30 Plus, being very worthy to this exclusive club. In terms of dazzling features, the V30 ticks a lot of boxes, including these ones!

A Big Screen Experience

The V30 pushes the screen right out to the edges in truly eye-catching style. More than 80% of the front surface area is made up of screen, which hosts a big, clear resolution of 1,440 x 2, 880.

A Near Cinematic Experience

Probably the biggest feature of the screen is what you can watch on it! HDR10 (High Dynamic Range) support means you can enjoy HDR content of cinematic quality from sources including Amazon and Netflix.

A Vastly Improved Camera

The improvements in the V30's camera are in fact so substantial, that it could well be considered the best smartphone camera you can get. It's certainly right up there, thanks to a 16-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera and HDR video, where much attention has focussed on upgrading the shooting, editing and sharing tools.

Sounds Wonderful Too

In recent years, LG phones have made a name for striking audio quality, and the V30 keeps that reputation intact...in fact, it probably enhances it! Put this down to Hi-Fi Quad DAC which basically makes music sound less digital and "tinny", and far more rich and deep, like real music should sound!

Those Important Internals

Some high-quality components inside the V30 deliver the mind-blowing stuff you can see and hear in the V30, with Snapdragon 835 and Android 7.1 Nougat being prominent features of the V30's operational platform.

LG V30+ review

If you've been holding out for a smartphone that doesn't put the squeeze on useful features, but does the opposite, filling it to the brim with utilities, you might have thought you'd be waiting an eternity. But actually, the LG V30+ is that very phone.
Pros:
  • Streamlined design
  • Crammed with features
  • Interesting camera improvements
Cons:
  • Doesn't launch with Android Oreo
  • Display viewing angles shift colour
  • No portrait mode on the camera

LG V30

The V30 is LG's latest flagship device and it offers a whole load of features that wouldn't find anywhere else. It's a great phone, but one that appears to have lost some of its lustre as a result of the delayed release.
Pros:
  • Loads of features
  • Stunning audio
  • The nicest looking LG phone yet
Cons:
  • Screen isn't great
  • Stuck on Android 7
  • LG's software is still ugly

Beautiful phone with excellent specs

I Bought the V30 2 weeks ago and for the moment I'm very happy. I was afraid because in all the reviews they were complaining about the view angles of the display. In this 2 weeks I didn't feel any blue colour in the display or any other issue.

LG V30, my perfect phone.

My last 3 phones have all been LG, this is the one that's truly got peoples attention. The great specs with almost perfectly design have delivered and probably worth forking out the asking price to be honest.

The LG V30 has everything an Android fan could wish for (apart from stock Android)
Pros:

  • Beautiful
  • yet durable design
Cons:
  • Still some camera imperfections
  • Slightly bloated software experience
  • Could be slimmer

LG V30 camera review

With its extreme wide angle secondary camera and and extensive video feature set, the LG V30 makes a great device for vloggers or anyone else interested in video production with a smartphone. The wide angle works great in still photography as well, allowing you to squeeze more into the frame, without the need for accessory lenses. The V30 doesn't quite match the best in class in terms of pixel-level image quality but is otherwise an excellent device for content production and a great smartphone in general use.
Pros:
  • Mobile video shooting, wide angle photography
Cons:
  • Zooming, large image magnification

LG V30

I just want a phone that does everything. Is that too much to ask? I want a sleek, durable handset that's practically all screen. A device with gobs of performance, loooong battery life, an amazing camera and a headphone jack.
Pros:
  • The LG V30 almost has it all: a great camera
  • speedy processor
  • huge OLED screen
  • excellent battery life
  • waterproofing
  • wireless charging
  • microSD storage and the best headphone jack on a phone
Cons:
  • Ergonomic quirks can make the V30 awkward to hold
  • You may miss some shots due to slow camera autofocus
  • Carrier-specific versions come with annoying bloatware and logos

  • water-resistant design
  • Strong performance
  • Flexible
  • powerful video features
  • It sounds fantastic
Cons:
  • Screen appears gritty at low brightness
  • Low-light camera performance could be better
  • Middling battery life

LG V30 review: While the new LG V30S ThinQ has better specs, the V30 costs a lot less

The LG V30 is a rock-solid alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Plus and the Google Pixel 2 XL. If it fits your hands and your photographic needs, you won't be disappointed. The LG V30 ($360 at eBay) was well-received upon its launch in November 2017. A significant step up from the G6, the V30 proved to be a worthy adversary to the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, especially in the camera department. With impressive battery life, a high quality headphone jack, and fast performance, it's easy to see why the V30 is still one of our favorite smartphones.
Pros:
  • The LG V30 almost has it all: a great camera
  • speedy processor
  • huge OLED screen
  • excellent battery life
  • waterproofing
  • wireless charging
  • microSD storage and the best headphone jack on a phone.
Cons:
  • Ergonomic quirks can make the V30 awkward to hold
  • You may miss some shots due to slow camera autofocus
  • Carrier-specific versions come with annoying bloatware and logos.

I have mixed feelings about LG range of smartphones. Over the previous two years, the company has had a rough time of competing with the likes of Apple and Samsung with their flagship G-series range of smartphones.
