LG G6 review
The LG G6 is no doubt a striking smartphone. Metal and glass shimmer while the huge 18:9 screen is impressively brought to life with the improved software and its rounded corner design.
LG G6 review: this superfast handset may be ahead of its time
The LG G6 is the best phone yet from a company that's kept innovating year after year. While its 18:9 HDR display might not be the biggest leap it's taken, the landing at the G6 is the best yet.- Excellent battery life
- top build quality
- screen crack resistance
- very capable cameras
- Third-party apps need screen ratio optimisation
- 18:9 camera shots are at lower resolution
After LG went wild with the G5, this year's flagship G6 can't help but seem a little subdued by comparison. That's alright, though: It's full of notable improvements, from the water-resistant body to the beautiful, extra-long screen. Plus, the dual-camera setup feels a lot more polished.
- Gorgeous 18:9 display
- Solid performance despite older chip
- Dual camera offers lots of flexibility
- It's water-resistant
- LG's interface still isn't for everyone
- Disappointing battery life
- Plain industrial design
- Unimpressive audio
With Samsung's Infinity Display and Sony's Ultra Slow-Mo, it will not be an easy run-in for anyone OEM in 2017. Away from cheap thrills and gimmicks in the form of modular approach, LG admitted to the those in attendance at MWC that the view pushed the company in the wrong direction.
LG G6 review: A nearly flawless masterpiece that's easy to fall in love with
The new G6 from LG marks a new design era for smartphones, and for LG, an important return to fundamentals. Gone are the gimmicks of old. There's no leather back, curved screen or modular components.
LG is on to a winner with its new G6 smartphones which offers the best of both worlds – a larger screen to enjoy your content within a small chassis that can still be used with one hand.
Sleek phone with useful features, great performance and beautiful display
I've now owned this phone for a week and I can say my experience has been a good one thus far. I would definitely recommend this phone for anyone who wants a top 5 phone at a price point that doesn't hurt your wallet.- USB-C quick charge
- crisp display and slim form factor
- Battery is average
- front facing camera is okay but not great and internal memory could be better
LG G5 vs LG G6 | New features in LG G6: Should I upgrade to LG G6?
The battery isn't removable and it no longer supports Friends (oh no). In every other respect the LG G6 is a big and bold upgrade over the LG G5, and we'd say it's by far the better phone. However, we'll know more when we've had it into our Test Centre for proper testing.
LG G6 Smartphone Review
The LG G6 marks the end of the modular smartphone from the Korean manufacturer. Instead, we get a robust chassis, new screen ratio, improved cameras, and a bigger battery. Sounds like a good combination.- compact design
- sturdy chassis
- water and dust resistance
- good performance
- great cameras
- excellent microphones
- very good voice quality
- great display with Dolby Vision and HDR10
- good battery runtime
- expandable storage
- display uses PWM
- only wired video output
- only USB 2.0
- throttling under high load
- no dual-SIM
LG G6 Review: The display is the key
After the ill-fated modular excesses of 2016, LG has found its head in 2017, and the LG G6 is all the better for it. Owners of the G5 may be left frustrated that the vision of interchangeable accessories and growing functionality they were promised has failed to pan out, but the rest of us are...- 18:9 display makes the G6 easy to hold
- Great camera performance
- Wide-angle camera is useful and unusual
- Design is sober
- bordering on boring
- No Quad DAC or 64GB option on US G6
- Most streaming video is still 16:9
