Only thing I really needed was a Thunderbolt cable to connect to my 2020 MacBook Pro. You can still use HDMI but the Thunderbolt cable can recharge the laptop as well as provide video input. Also like the tilt and swivel adjustability

I bought this monitor to run off my MacBook Pro. It is very sharp, displays excellent colour and having the USB-C means only one connection to the Mac for video, sound and charging, as well as providing additional USB connections. The only issue I had was LG didn't provide a USB-C cable in the box and when I used a USB-C cable from an existing Philips USB-C monitor, it didn't display video. I had to source another (more expensive) cable b ut now it works fine. I called LG support when I was having trouble and they called me back about 3 days later but by that time I had sorted the problem.

Screen looks great and performs well. But after 4 months it developed a horizontal and vertical dead pixel lines across the width and height of the monitor.

I am using this monitor as a main monitor for my MacBook Pro. It's perfect. The resolution, colour, contract, brightness and detail are every bit as good, and arguably better than the retina display of the MacBook. At 27 inches there is plenty of real estate. I purchased this monitor so that I could reduce my desktop clutter, and the single USB-C cable to the monitor, which also charges the MacBook achieves this perfectly. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and some were a bit mixed. Maybe I am easily impressed compared to some, but as a photographer I know quality in colour. Been using this monitor for the last couple of weeks and running my 2019 16" MacBook Pro through this monitor is a dream with 96W of power delivery it helps keeps the desk clean. The colours are accurate and vibrant and haven't needed to calibrate (although any monitor can benefit from calibration) and is plenty responsive for uni work, photo and video editing and the occasional console gaming. While it's nice having inbuilt speakers definitely lacking in the bass department and have been just using either my MacBook's speakers or my UE Boom. Definitely would recommend .
