As the Kodak ScanMate i940 Scanner for Macintosh Computers is the first scanner we've tested using Mac hardware and software, we can't do any "Apples to Apples" comparisons to other scanners we've tested.
Designed for the Mac; Fast for a portable scanner; 20-page ADF; Duplex scanning; Can run from AC or battery power; Nearly matched rated speed for USB-powered scans
Subpar OCR performance; Scan times under AC power were well below its rated speed
Standalone scanners such as the Kodak ScanMate i940 Scanner are falling out of fashion recently. Some of the decline in popularity can be attributed to all-in-ones, such as the HP Photosmart Plus eAll-in-One , Canon Pixma MG5250 or Kodak's ESP 1.2 .
I'm using Windows 10 on an HP Pavilion The sorter misses or skips documents. This usually happens when there are different sizes or documents. So I set the option to Pause Scanning for More Documents. Now it hangs up and doesn't ask for more documents to insert.
There's a wide choice of document scanners at this price. Though capable, the ScanMate i940 isn't the best
